  • Patent number: 9918478
Abstract: This invention is about a water soluble antimicrobial polyacrylate silver salt. The molecular chain of the polyacrylate silver salt comprises sodium carboxylic group (—COONa) and silver carboxylic group (—COOAg). It is synthesized by dissolving an polyacrylate polymer comprising sodium carboxylic group (—COONa) in water and then exchanging the sodium carboxylic group of the polyacrylate polymer to silver carboxylic group (—COOAg) using silver salt in aqueous solution. Ultrafiltration membrane is used to remove the sodium salt generated from the metal ion exchanging procedure. An aqueous solution of water soluble antimicrobial polyacrylate silver salt with very few impurity is obtained. The water soluble antimicrobial polyacrylate silver salt is then obtain-ned from the aqueous solution. The molar ratio of —COOAg to —COONa of thus obtained water soluble antimicrobial polyacrylate silver salt can be as high as 66/34.

  • Patent number: 6961302
Abstract: A method and structure for intensifying track seeking signals from an optical disk, in particular, a recordable digital versatile disk (DVD-R). With the addition of an optical correction layer between a dye material layer and a reflection layer inside the DVD-R, track-seeking signals of the optical disk are intensified and recording quality of the optical disk is improved. The optical correction layer is a transparent or semi-transparent layer made from inorganic materials. The optical correction layer is formed over the dye material layer in a sputtering process.

  • Patent number: 6906993
Abstract: A hybrid optical disc recording medium has concurrently a hybrid read-only area and a rewritable area on an optical substrate. The substrate of the read-only area has pre-pits, and the substrate of the rewritable area has pre-grooves. The pre-pits and the pre-grooves have the same depth. Thus when making the stampers for producing the hybrid optical disc, the technical problems of difficult to control the yields that incur to conventional techniques of different depths of the pits and the grooves can be effectively resolved. Experiments and test results indicate that the hybrid optical disc recording medium of the invention that have the same depth for the pits and the grooves, and extended grooves, can generate signals to meet the standards of the specifications.

  • Patent number: 5236643
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing gas separation membranes or modules. Membrane forming material is cast into a wet membrane which is wound into a spiral module. The spiral module is arranged in a closed circulating apparatus. Exchanging solvents or treating solutions are circulated through the circulating apparatus and the spiral module for an appropriate period of time. The module and circulating apparatus are purged until the membrane is dry, thus producing a gas separation membrane or module.
