    Abstract: An improved gasket assembly comprising a first gasket member, a second gasket member, and an intermediate metal plate interposed between and temporarily and slidably attached to the first and second gasket members. The intermediate metal plate may be attached to the gasket members by either a plurality of hooks formed on the intermediate metal plate or a low temperature melting point adhesive applied to the respective sides of the intermediate metal plate.
