Abstract: A lighting device has a body for holding a battery cell and a connected head that has a lens having several light deflecting portions. A number of light sources, such as super LEDs, are mounted within the head for energization by the battery cell to emit light through the lens, with light from the individual light sources being merged together by the light deflecting portions. A switch on the body switches on and off the light sources. The light sources comprise two groups of different colours. The head is rotatable relative to the light sources for aligning the light deflecting lens portions with the light sources of either one group selectively for merging the light of the corresponding colour from that group.

Abstract: A flashlight which comprises a barrel for containing two battery cells, said barrel having opposite ends and an internal detent/recess, head and tail pieces provided at respective barrel ends, a light bulb enclosed by the head piece, and an on/off switch. The switch has a resiliently biassed projecting post and is provided inside the barrel at a position between and for switching on and off electrical connection between the light bulb and the battery cells. The post is arranged to engage automatically with the detent/recess in a snap-fit manner when the switch is moved into the barrel through one barrel end to the aforesaid position, thereby holding the switch in that position.

Abstract: A flashlight includes a barrel for containing a battery cell and having front and rear ends, a light bulb supported at the barrel front end, a head cap connected to the barrel front end for covering the light bulb, and a tail piece connected to the barrel rear end. The tail piece has an outer shape converging backwards to form a substantially pointed end such that the flashlight may be planted or stuck into a penetratable supporting surface for standing on its own.

Abstract: An electric torch comprising an aluminum barrel for accommodating a battery cell and having an open front end to provide a seat of a reduced cross-sectional size, a head piece releasably connected onto the body front end, a hollow reflector disposed within the head piece, and a light bulb. The light bulb has an electrically-conducting body sitting within the seat for direct electrical contact therewith and a glass envelope entering into the reflector for light reflection.
