  • Publication number: 20240385448
Abstract: A lens module in a head-mounted device may include a fluid-filled chamber, a semi-rigid lens element that at least partially defines the fluid-filled chamber, and at least one actuator configured to selectively bend the semi-rigid lens element. The semi-rigid lens element may become rigid along a first axis when the lens element is curved along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. Six actuators that are evenly distributed around the periphery of the semi-rigid lens element may be used to control the curvature of the semi-rigid lens element. The semi-rigid lens element may initially be planar or non-planar. For example, the semi-rigid lens element may initially have a spherically convex surface and a spherically concave surface. A tunable spherical lens may be incorporated into the lens module to offset a parasitic spherical lens power from the semi-rigid lens element.

  • Patent number: 12147741
Abstract: A global computer aided engineering (CAE) model representing an electronic product that contains solder joints and an individual detailed solder joint model are received. The solder joint model can include a solder ball, one or more metal pads, a portion of printed circuit board, and a portion of semiconductor chip component. The global CAE model includes locations of the solder joints to be evaluated in a drop test simulation. The solder joint model is replicated at each location to create a local CAE model via a geometric relationship between the global CAE model and the local CAE model. Simulated physical behaviors of the product under a design condition are obtained in a co-simulation using the global CAE model in a first time scale and the local CAE model in a second time scale. Simulated physical behaviors are periodically synchronized based on kinematic and force constraints.

  • Publication number: 20240380694
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for sending data traffic from a first site to a router in a second site, at a first network element, located at the first site, that provides a direct connection to the second site to enable a logical network to span both the first and second sites. The first network element does not have an assigned network address. The method identifies a DCN, located at the first site, that connects to a logical network segment spanning the first and second sites. The method uses a network address of the identified DCN to send an ARP request to the router. Upon receiving an ARP response with a data link address of the router, the method uses the data link address to forward data traffic directed to a subset of DCNs at the second site through the direct connection to the router located at the second site.

  • Publication number: 20240378600
Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose a formation and termination mechanism for a general-purpose Cross-Chain Payment Channel (CCPC) protocol, wherein the CCPC protocol can execute fund transfers between two accounts residing in different blockchains off-chain by building a payment channel between the two accounts and breaking down the funding and withdrawal transactions into multiple transactions. Embodiments herein disclose a formation and termination mechanism for a general-purpose Cross-Shard Payment Channel (CSPC) protocol in a sharding system to perform cross-shard transactions, wherein a payment channel is built between accounts from two shards, which would dramatically reduce the number of actual cross-shard transactions recorded at the layer 1 blockchain, resulting in lower latency of cross-shard transactions, as compared to existing sharding schemes.

  • Publication number: 20240378088
Abstract: Introduced here is a resource management platform (also called a “resource manager”) that is able to dynamically allocate compute resources to workloads to accommodate resource requirements of a tenant in a more efficient and cost-effective manner, especially in scenarios where compute resource availability is elastic in nature. The resource manager can include a scheduling engine and a recommending engine that together are able to optimize the scaling up and down of compute resources in different scenarios. Normally, the resource manager can communicate with a resource-aware, external entity that may be responsible for implementing appropriate changes on a cloud infrastructure. For example, the external entity may be responsible for adding or removing nodes assigned to a given tenant, as well as obtaining relevant attributes of those compute resources from a provider of the cloud infrastructure.
