Patent number: 7168972Abstract: A female electrical connector is provided for receiving a standardized male electrical connector having a movable release tab. The female electrical connector includes an electrical connector body, at least one electrical contact, and at least one lock member. The electrical connector body has an axial cavity configured to receive a male connector. The at least one electrical contact is provided in the cavity. The at least one lock member is carried by the body in load deflecting relation relative to an opposed inner face of the cavity. The at least one lock member is configured to displace relative to the inner face between a loaded position and a released position responsive to a release tab of a male electrical connector applying an overload condition on the at least one tab.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2006Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Assignee: Itronix CorporationInventors: Sidney David Autry, David Stockham, Jeff Anderson

Patent number: 6452103Abstract: An electrical connector for crimpable connection about an electrical conductor upon application of a crimping force imparted by the opposing arcuate dies of a crimping tool. The connector includes an elongate connector body formed of a compressible material. The connector body has an elongate first planar face and an elongate second planar face. The first planar face is opposed to the second planar face. One end of the connector body is defined by an arcuate wall extending between the first planar face and the second planar face. The other end of the connector body defines a first open ended conductor receiving nest. The connector body further defines a second open ended conductor receiving nest and a third open ended conductor receiving nest whereby the second and third conductor receiving nests are located adjacent to the arcuate wall and open in substantially opposite directions. The connector body provides no more than three points of contact with the opposing dies of the crimping tool prior to crimping.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1997Date of Patent: September 17, 2002Assignee: Thomas & Betts International, Inc.Inventors: Jose M. Piriz, Sidney A. David

Patent number: 5896269Abstract: A heat sink conduit, for use in cooling electronic devices, made of an elongate strip of thermally conductive material that is repeatedly folded onto itself in an accordion, sinusoidal or serpentine like manner. The elongate strip is compressed between a heat producing component and a heat sink. This compression causes each of the two end segments of the elongate strip to be in positive contact with either the heat producing component or the heat sink. This positive contact allows the heat to be conducted away from the heat producing component to the heat sink and the large surface area of the conduit provides for the transfer of heat through convection and radiation, thereby cooling the heat producing component and the electronic device.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 1996Date of Patent: April 20, 1999Assignee: Gateway 2000, Inc.Inventor: Sidney David Autry
