Abstract: A reach assistive grabbing or grasping device for retrieving remote objects, comprised of a telescopically contractable arm terminating at one end with a gripping mechanism that is electrically manipulated to open from a default closed position. The contractable arm defaulting to a retracted compacted configuration that is manually or electrically extendable. The powered operation and default configuration eliminating the need for constant pressure during retrieval of an object and simplifying operation by users having limited muscular exertion and/or impaired motor control skills.
