  • Publication number: 20150201165
Abstract: A method for surveillance of a railroad track includes equipping rail vehicles which run on the railroad track with a recording unit which takes images of the railroad track or the surroundings thereof. The images are saved and automatically processed or analyzed for specific incidents by using image detection procedures. If such an incident is detected, an action can be executed, an alarm triggered or a police investigation initiated. At the same time, it is advantageous that a flexible surveillance of the railroad track and effective procedures to prevent theft and damage along the railroad track can be achieved by using inexpensive resources. The images can also be transmitted to a central location and monitored there (e.g. continuously) by operators. A rail vehicle, an apparatus for surveillance of a railroad track and a system having a rail vehicle and a central unit are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20040249672
Abstract: A system provides a user with preventive care health maintenance information during a user's lifetime. A stored medical record is associated with a particular user. A repository of health maintenance guidelines and associated time information is customized for the particular user based on characteristics including age, sex, and health condition. A processor employs the guidelines, associated time information, and retrieved medical record information of the particular user to initiate generation of a message at a particular time. The message prompts the particular user to initiate action in support of preventive care health maintenance of the particular user. A communication processor processes the message for output communication.

  • Publication number: 20040243441
Abstract: A financial management system and method therefor enables an individual user to access and maintain healthcare records concerning encounters of an individual with a healthcare provider organization. The encounters include interactions of the individual with the healthcare provider organization that have a financial consequence. The financial management system includes an acquisition processor, a storage processor, a data processor, and an output processor. The acquisition processor receives, via electronic communication from a healthcare provider organization, information related to at least one healthcare encounter of an individual user. The storage processor stores the received healthcare encounter information. The data processor retrieves and processes the received healthcare encounter information to provide data, representing at least one record, indicating a history of encounters of the individual user with the healthcare provider organization.

  • Patent number: 6801227
Abstract: A processing and user interface system supports Internet application and web page navigation for sequential task oriented processes, workflow management and user specific, customizable, interactive and other organizable processes. A network (Internet, Intranet or other network) compatible user interface system supports a process including a sequence of subtasks. The system initiates display of a composite window representing a plurality of overlaid tabbed web page (or application) windows each including a visible tab incorporating an identifier identifying a function provided by a web page or application window associated with a particular subtask of the sequence of subtasks. The visible tabs and corresponding overlaid tabbed windows are sequentially ordered in accordance with the sequence of subtasks.

  • Patent number: 6301360
Abstract: Data sequences comprised of figure-coded units, such as text comprised of ASCII characters, are encoded into another data entity, such as a pixel based image. The encoding implements a positionally-based encoding scheme in which values of the data entity (basic matrix) upon which the data sequences are to be encoded is used. The position for values to be changed in the basic matrix are determined by a reversible function, and the encoding value that these values are changed by may be 1, another arbitrary number, or determined by a formula. The counterpart to the reversible function is known by an intended receiver of the encoded data for decoding purposes. The basic matrix may be generated utilizing a suitably complex function, such as a chaos function, with parameters known only to the sender and receiver.

  • Patent number: 5598076
Abstract: A process for optimizing the control parameters of the operation of a system, such as a robotic system or heating system, provides that a trainable component or model is taught the actual behavior of the system, the difference or deviation of the actual behavior from a reference behavior of the system is determined and correction values are provided. New control parameters are determined which take into account the correction values. The determination of the deviation and the incorporation of the correction values is continued until the difference of the actual behavior from the reference behavior is below a predetermined value.
