Patent number: 8951007Abstract: In the turbine housing for an exhaust gas turbocharger of a drive assembly at least one spiral channel, which can be coupled to an exhaust gas line of the drive assembly is provided A receiving chamber for a turbine wheel to which exhaust gas can be supplied is disposed upstream of the at least one spiral channel. The turbine wheel is disposed in the turbine housing so as to be rotatable about a rotational axis. A guide baffle is arranged fixed to the turbine housing in a transition region between the at least one spiral channel, the guide baffle being connected to the turbine housing by a metal-to-metal joint whereby the guide baffle is connected to the turbine housing in a particular tight manner.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2011Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignee: Daimler AGInventors: Siegfried Botsch, Stephan Krätschmer, Markus Müller, Siegfried Sumser

Publication number: 20110162926Abstract: The invention relates to a brake disc having a brake disc pot (42) and a friction ring (10) which is positively connected to the brake disc pot via toothing (50). The friction ring (10) comprises two friction ring halves (12, 14), wherein the toothing extends across only one of the friction ring halves. In this manner it is possible to mount through-passages (30) axially adjacent to the toothing running around the friction ring half on the interior circumference of the friction ring, said passages connecting the interior circumference of the friction ring to an interior ventilation arrangement of the friction ring. In this manner both a good force transmission and a stable positive connection is ensured between the friction ring and the brake disc pot, as is an efficient cooling by means of an interior ventilation of the friction ring.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2009Publication date: July 7, 2011Applicant: DAIMLER AGInventors: Siegfried Botsch, Klaus Jaeckel, Martin Lesch, Christian Quinger, Thomas Steinhauer, David Wilke

Publication number: 20100310364Abstract: In a turbine housing, for an exhaust gas turbocharger of an internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas guide section which has at least one spiral channel that can be coupled to an exhaust path of an exhaust tract and a reception chamber for accommodating a turbine wheel arranged downstream of the at least one spiral channel, at least one first and one second partial housing are provided, which include complementary wall regions of the at least one spiral channel and which are joined so as to form the at least one spiral channel. Also, an exhaust gas turbocharger with such a turbine housing is provided and a method for producing such a turbine housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2010Publication date: December 9, 2010Inventors: Siegfried Botsch, Christian Elsner, Gernot Hertweck, Markus Müller, Simon Raithel, Martin Schlegl, Johannes Seuffert

Publication number: 20100310362Abstract: A turbine housing for a turbine wheel of an exhaust gas turbocharger, is formed from a casting material and comprises at least two flow chambers that are separated from each other by a flow separator. The flow separator is embodied as a separate insert especially as a sheet metal part or a cast part, that is embedded into a wall region of the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2008Publication date: December 9, 2010Applicant: Daimler AGInventor: Siegfried Botsch

Publication number: 20100263970Abstract: The invention relates to a brake disk for a motor vehicle having a brake disc cup (10) and having a friction ring (18) supported thereby and made of a cast material, joined to each other by means of a joint connection, particularly a welded connection (32), wherein an intermediate component (20) is cast into the friction ring (18), by means of which the friction ring (18) is connected to the brake disk cup (10). The invention further relates to a method for producing such a brake disk.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2008Publication date: October 21, 2010Applicant: DAIMLER AGInventors: Siegfried Botsch, Klaus Jaeckel, Martin Lesch, Ilhan Oktay, Christian Quinger, Thomas Salewski, David Wilke

Publication number: 20100187053Abstract: The invention relates to a disk brake, especially for a motor vehicle, comprising a wheel hub (10) and a friction ring (18), which are firmly interconnected radially by a form lock (24) and axially by at least one securing element (26). The invention is characterized in that the at least one axial securing element (26) is arranged in a receiving recess (38) which extends radially inside the friction ring (18), said friction ring (18) being radially movable relative to the securing element (26) in the area of the receiving recess (38).Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2008Publication date: July 29, 2010Applicant: DAIMLER AGInventors: Siegfried Botsch, Klaus Jaeckel, Martin Lesch, Christian Quinger, David Wilke

Patent number: 7467694Abstract: A method for the production of a brake disk and a brake disk which are characterized by the following features: several pairs of bushings inserted into each other are placed into a core box. The core is closed about the bushings in such a way that they form an integral component of the core. The core is inserted into a casting tool and the brake disk is cast. After the core is removed, the brake disk hub and the friction ring are decoupled from each other and can expand in relation to each other without shielding the brake disk.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2003Date of Patent: December 23, 2008Assignee: Daimler AGInventor: Siegfried Botsch

Publication number: 20060175159Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a brake disk (2) and a brake disk (2) which are characterized by the following features: several pairs of inserted bushings (8, 10) other are placed into a core box. The core (14) is closed about the bushings (8, 10) in such a way that they form an integral component of the core (14). The core (14) is inserted into a casting tool and the brake disk is cast. After the core (14) is removed, the brake disk chamber (4) and the friction ring (6) are decoupled from each other and can expand in relation to each other without shielding the brake disk (2).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2003Publication date: August 10, 2006Applicant: Daimler Chrysler AGInventor: Siegfried Botsch

Patent number: 6073735Abstract: A brake disc (10) has a cover (12) made of a cast aluminium alloy and a brake ring (14) made of cast steel or cast iron. The cover (12) is cast onto pockets (22) which have a radially inwardly facing pocket opening next to the pocket edge (26), formed on the internal circumference (U.sub.i) of the brake ring, creating a radial distance (b) between the cover (12) and the brake ring (14). The pocket edge (26) is surrounded by the cast cover (12) and the pockets (22) are substantially filled with the cast aluminium alloy. Because of this method of connecting the brake ring (14) to the cover (12), umbrella-like distortion can be largely avoided.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1998Date of Patent: June 13, 2000Assignee: Aluminium Rheinfelden GmbHInventors: Siegfried Botsch, Hubert Koch
