    Abstract: A self-supporting tent structure for protecting small private aircraft and the like comprises a plurality of vertical side posts each defining a corner of the tent to which a roof membrane is secured. A lifting apparatus is connected to the roof membrane for selectively moving the roof member between an untensioned position and a tensioned position. A truss member is provided for supporting steadying struts against the side posts for providing stability to the self-supporting tent.
