Publication number: 20110038746Abstract: The invention relates to a variable-volume internal gear pump, in particular for use as an engine lubrication pump for automobiles. The internal gear pump comprises a housing (7, 10) and a rotor set chamber (40) formed therein comprising a low pressure chamber (17) and a high pressure chamber (18) for a fluid. Inside the rotor set chamber (40) are an inner rotor (2) that can be rotatably driven by a shaft (1) about an axis of rotation (Di) and a rotatable outer rotor (3) with an outer rotor axis of rotation (Da) that is arranged eccentric with respect to the axis of rotation (Di). When a rotational force is applied, conveyance cells (30, 31) form between the inner rotor (2) and the outer rotor (3) in which the fluid is conveyed from the low pressure chamber (17) to the high pressure chamber (18). An adjusting member (5) upon which axial springs (8) act and which is guided in the internal gears (34) of the outer rotor (3) in axial motion causes a pressure-related axial movement of the inner rotor (2).Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2009Publication date: February 17, 2011Inventor: Siegfried A. Patent number: 5989001Abstract: A hydrostatic bearing mounts a rotatable control part of a planetary rotation machine according to the orbital principle. Pockets are arranged at least in one sliding surface. Each pocket is surrounded by a bearing gap and fed with bearing fluid by a supply line under pressure. The bearing gap is small, so that there is only a small flow of bearing fluid from the pocket. The supply line, the feed with bearing fluid and the bearing gap are designed so that the pressure required for a rigid bearing can be built up in the pocket. Using the working fluid at half the high pressure in the bearing pocket results in a bearing which has minimal leakage and frictional losses and can be realized at low cost, so that the efficiency of the planetary rotation machine as a whole is increased.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1996Date of Patent: November 23, 1999Inventor: Siegfried Eisenmann

Patent number: 5413470Abstract: In an internal gear pump, which can also be constructed as pump with suction control, to reduce the undesired cavitation effects in the pressure region and to permit the oil to flow off from the diminishing displacement cells between the teeth of the gears, and impedance-controlled overflow passage is provided, the openings of which towards the moving displacement cells are alternately opened and closed by the teeth of at least one of the gears.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1994Date of Patent: May 9, 1995Inventor: Siegfried A. Eisenmann

Patent number: 5380169Abstract: In a suction-controlled ring gear pump a continuous elimination of the vacuum occurring in the displacement cells of the pump at higher speed is achieved by a long distance of the displacement cells from the end of the suction region to the start of the outlet opening and the resulting diminishing of the displacement cells. To avoid squeeze oil when operating at low speed, the displacement cells following each other in the displacement direction between the gear teeth are each connected to the adjacent displacement cells by overflow passages which pass through the gear teeth and in which check valves prevent a flow against the displacement direction. To obtain an increased pump power when reaching specific operating parameters the flow resistance in the suction conduit can be reduced and the effective edge of the pressure kidney shifted forwardly by connection of a further preceding pressure kidney.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1993Date of Patent: January 10, 1995Inventor: Siegfried A. Eisenmann

Patent number: 5368455Abstract: In a gear-type machine, in particular in a ring gear pump with internally toothed ring gear meshing with a pinion having only one tooth less, for reducing the noise the pinion teeth are only half as wide as the internally toothed ring gear teeth and the cycloids are flattened in order to ensure adequate free passage of the teeth heads opposite the point of deepest teeth engagement in spite of minimum clearance.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1992Date of Patent: November 29, 1994Inventor: Siegfried A. Eisenmann

Patent number: 5226798Abstract: The invention proposes in gear ring pumps for reciprocating internal-combustion engines and/or automatic transmissions allowing the hollow gear to run in the hollow gear housing with a play which is large enough for the pronounced fluctuations of the radial position of the crankshaft or input shaft carrying the pinion of the gear ring pump to be taken up thereby and selecting a toothing for the pump such that the effective mounting of the hollow gear on the pinion is achieved. If a correspondingly largeplay is provided between the shaft and the pinion, the hollow gear is mounted with minimum play in the housing. The pinion is then mounted in the hollow gear.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1992Date of Patent: July 13, 1993Inventor: Siegfried A. Eisenmann

Patent number: 5122335Abstract: A suction controlled gear ring pump effects a continuous decrease of the vacuum occurring in the feed cells of the pump at higher rotational speeds due to the long movement path of the feed cells from the end of the suction region to the beginning of the discharge opening and the thereby occurring diminution of the feed cells. In order to prevent squeeze oil when working at a lower rotating speed, the feed cells positioned successively in the feed direction are connected between the teeth respectively with the neighboring feed cells by overflow channels extending through the gear teeth, check valves in said overflow channels preventing a flow against the feed direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1991Date of Patent: June 16, 1992Inventor: Siegfried Eisenmann

Patent number: 5056994Abstract: A hydrostatic rotary piston machine contains a displacement part acting as a driven part and an adjacent control part which serves to supply and removed operating fluid to and from the displacement part. The displacement part has a rigid housing with a first inner tooth system which interacts with a rotatable, eccentrically arranged rotary piston having a first outer tooth system. The rotary piston has a second inner tooth system which intermeshes with a second outer tooth system on a centrally mounted shaft which passes through the control part and is mounted at both ends. The difference is the number of teeth between the first inner tooth system and first outer tooth system is 1. The second inner and outer tooth system differ by at least two in the number of teeth, the outer tooth system always being that with the smaller number of teeth. A rotary commutator of the control part is coupled to the rotary piston via an arc gear having a transmission ratio of 1:1.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1989Date of Patent: October 15, 1991Inventors: Siegfried Eisenmann, Hermann Harle
