  • Patent number: 5676361
Abstract: The paper tray for an automatic sheet feeder has a tray base (2) to which is attached a lower paper alignment face (4) having a sheet ejection slot (6). An upper paper striking face (8) is located opposite the lower paper alignment face, in the vicinity of which is a set-count finger (10). The upper paper striking face (8) in the form of a striking block (9) which increases in thickness from the tray base (2) upwards is shaped in such a way that the documents returned to the paper tray can be relied upon to come to rest on top of the set-count finger (10).

  • Patent number: 5393046
Abstract: A device (1) for aligning sheets against two sheet abutments (3 and 5) which are disposed perpendicularly relative to each other consists of a rotatably mounted sleeve (6) in which a rod member (16) is guided. Rod member (16) is held in the sleeve by spring means (18). At least one aligning element (8) is mounted on sleeve (6) for pivotal movement about a pin (10), the aligning element being provided with a friction element (14) at one end. Spring means (24) connecting arm (12) of the aligning element with the lower end (22) of rod member (16) cause the friction element (14) to rest with a predetermined pressure force on the surface (4) of the uppermost sheet of paper.

  • Patent number: 5294107
Abstract: A device for directing individually supplied sheets onto a sheet depositing surface includes a feeder for feeding sheets along a sheet path onto the surface and a pivotably mounted sheet directing element that includes a first arm which extends across the sheet path. The pivotable directing element includes a weight mounted thereto above its pivot axis for increasing the moment of inertia of the pivotable directing element.

  • Patent number: 4831856
Abstract: An apparatus for bending single or multiple stacked flat sections of finned heat exchanger coil into a predetermined configuration having one, two or three generally 90 degree bends. The coil is moved along a support table to a bending station by a gripper mechanism engaged with the rear end of the coil. A portion of the coil forward of the position to be bent is clamped against an anvil by a clamping pad. A hold-down assembly prevents another portion of the coil rearward of the bend portion from raising off the support table as the anvil and clamping pad are rotated by a supporting spindle to bend the coil to the desired angle. The gripper mechanism is accelerated linearly forwardly in coordinated movement with the rotational acceleration of the spindle to prevent distortion of the coil fins by crowding material into the bend. The gripper mechanism is moved linearly along the support table by a controlled ball screw drive mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4155143
Abstract: A handle which may be used with a power drive cleaner is disclosed, the handle being separable for knockdown shipment and thereby also having utility with non power driven cleaners. To this end, a clamping means, fixed to the cleaner, maintains a telescopic engagement of the handle to the cleaner proper, after assembly, while ribs on a rigid bag housing of the cleaner align the handle with the housing during insertion. A split sleeve serves as the clamp and expands the handle into engagement with the cleaner. A much more compact disassembled shipping arrangement, occupying considerably less volume, is achieved by this structure.

  • Patent number: 3941283
Abstract: Arrangements are disclosed for dispensing liquid in droplet form at timed intervals from a receptacle defining a liquid reservoir. The receptacle includes openings at opposite ends thereof defined in part by integral externally threaded neck portions. One of the openings is employed to fill the receptacle and control the venting of the interior of the receptacle to atmosphere, thus to control stopping and starting of drop dispensing. The other of the openings is a dispensing opening including dispensing and timing means through which liquid in the receptacle is dispensed and by which the rate of drop dispensing is controlled. Absorbent material may be supported beneath the receptacle to receive drops dispensed therefrom to facilitate evaporation of the liquid, and fan means may be associated with the receptacle and absorbent material to further facilitate evaporation of the liquid and entrainment of odoriferous vapors from the liquid into the moving airstream caused by fan operation.
