  • Patent number: 4684342
Abstract: An apparatus for the thermal treatment of a batch of raw material has a casing and a drum rotatably mounted in the casing, the drum being made of good thermally conductive material and being substantially closed off from the open atmosphere. A drive is provided for rotating the drum and a feeder can introduce a bath of raw material into the drum and a device is provided for discharging a said batch which has been heated in the drum. A conduit conveys hot gases in heat exchange relationship with the drum.

  • Patent number: 4559072
Abstract: A process for the production of glass comprises introducing cullet or frit into a glass furnace and melting it therein to form a flux, and guiding the flux along a track, which may be slightly inclined. Preheated raw material components are applied to the surface of the flux substantially in the proportion of one part of flux to between one part to nine parts of raw material components on or in the flux so as to form a glass melt. The glass melt is then refined by introducing refining materials.

  • Patent number: 4422404
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the manufacture of glass coatings by applying metal chlorides which are dissolved in an organic acid, which manufacture and conveying of the coating liquid to the spray nozzles is done excluding contact of the liquid with oxygen. The spray nozzles are mounted on a nozzle bar which is pivotal about an axis extending along its longitudinal length. Each of the nozzles is adjustable to control the spray cone.

  • Patent number: 3991602
Abstract: A press for cold forming of workpieces from a metal sheet, wherein one of the upper tool and the lower tool is connected with a piston actuated by pressure means, having at least one C-frame, characterized by a guide frame carrying a cylindrical body with the upper tool, the guide frame being bodily separated from the C-frame, and by a compensating body loosely positioned between the cylindrical body and the upper arm of the C-frame, or a crossbar connecting the upper arms of the C-frames, the compensating body being coaxial with the upper and lower tools and swingable in the plane running perpendicularly to the plane of the guide frame.

  • Patent number: 3990240
Abstract: A method of controlling the advance and retraction of a tool on a processing machine in dependence of mechanical properties of the workpiece which tool communicates hydraulically on one hand with a drive means and on the other hand via a shut-off member on by-passes, with a pressure converter, the closing or opening of the shut-off member taking place through electrical pulses of a pressure measuring element, the pressure produced during the flow of the pressure fluid through an adjusting valve being kept constant, increasing, or decreasing for respective time periods each, the setting of the adjusting valve being operated by a pressure control for producing constant increasing, or decreasing pressure, and the pressure produced by the pressure converter and causing the retraction of the tool starting immediately after completion of its advance and being kept uniform, and an apparatus for carrying out the method.
