  • Patent number: 6965296
Abstract: The position of a movable object is determined by a signal being transmitted by each of a number of antennas arranged in a spatially distributed manner of a fixed object to the movable object. In the movable object, on the one hand signal transit times are measured, and on the other hand the direction from which the signals are received are determined. From the two, the exact position of the object is determined with geometrical aids.

Date of Patent: November 15, 2005
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft

  • Publication number: 20020024429
Abstract: A vehicle-mounted transmitter emits an interrogation code signal in a wave having elliptical or circular polarization. A portable receiver evaluates the received signal only if it receives field components in at least two spatial directions. If the interrogation code signal is accepted by the receiver, a response code signal is transmitted back to the motor vehicle as proof of authorization.
