  • Patent number: 7837606
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a bag from a polymer and/or metal film material provides a bag that has four outer walls connected by four seams and that has a sealed lower end. The bag-forming material is fed in the form of a film web that is wound up on a roll to an unwinding station of a bottom forming device that separates the unwound film web into film segments, connects the film segments, and seals at least one end of the connected segments to form the bag.

  • Publication number: 20060088676
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a bag (25, 40) from a polymer and/or metal film material. The lower end of the sack (25, 40) is sealed and has four outer walls (A-D) that are connected by four seams (27). The novelty and inventive step of said process is that the material (A-E) required for forming the bag is fed in the form of a film tube (25, 40) that is wound up on a roll to an unwinding station of a bottom forming device that separates the unwound film tube into film tube segments and seals at least one end of the bag.

  • Patent number: 4704308
Abstract: A method and apparatus for maintaining a glue applicator unit ready for operation after short or long term stoppages of a gluing operation. During short term stoppages, the applicator unit is pivoted away from the workpieces to which the glue is to be applied to a first rest position at which the nozzles are brought into tight engagement with a sealing means that includes a yieldable surface to surround and overlie the nozzles to provide an airtight seal. During long-term stoppages the glue applicators are pivoted beyond the first rest position to a second rest position at which the nozzles are in communication with a drain channel and purge fluid is sent through the applicator to pass through the nozzles and carry the glue and purge fluid to a collecting container, so that the nozzles are clear for subsequent start-up of the glue-applying operation.

  • Patent number: 4542894
Abstract: In a rotary applicator, suction rollers planetating about a central shaft are provided with suckers which are arranged in a row, project beyond the enveloping cylinders of the rollers and are placed on sucker carriers having suction air bores. The carriers communicate with suction air conduits and are rotatably but axially undisplaceably placed by means of sleeve-like tube members on the suction air conduits, the latter consisting of supporting tubes. The walls of the tubes and tube members are provided with bores which are in registry in the operative position of the suckers and of which the bores of the tube members communicate with the suction air bore of the sucker carrier. The suckers are rotatable to a position in which they are swung back within the enveloping cylinder and the walls of the tube members cover the bores of the supporting tube.
