  • Patent number: 8844421
Abstract: A small glass cutting wheel for producing a scribed predetermined breaking line, wherein the cutting wheel has a radial peripheral line which defines an outer periphery of the wheel and which lies in a main plane of the wheel and at least partially forms a cutting edge. The cutting edge includes cutting teeth which are circumferentially spaced from each other by intermediate tooth spaces and the height and/or circumferential extension of the cutting teeth exceeds a surface roughness. A small glass cutting wheel for manufacturing flat displays can be manufactured with an improved edge quality so that rejected glass plate pieces can be reduced. At least a part or preferably all intermediate tooth spaces include a cutting edge. Preferably, the cutting edges of the intermediate tooth space and the cutting edges of the teeth are arranged approximately in the same main plane of the small wheel.

  • Publication number: 20110057120
Abstract: An apparatus for determining element occupancy on a surface includes a UV beam source comprising at least one UV light-emitting diode whose UV radiation excites the element to fluorescence and a detector unit for the detection of fluorescence radiation. The apparatus, in accordance with the invention, is characterized in that beam guidance is configured by alignment of the UV beam source and the detector unit relative to the surface and/or by using a wavelength-selective beam splitter in the beam path in such a manner that the UV radiation back-reflected from the surface is kept away from the detector unit.

  • Publication number: 20100075580
Abstract: The invention relates to a small cutting wheel for producing a scribed/scored predetermined breaking line, wherein the cutting wheel has a radial peripheral line defining an outer periphery of the wheel which at least partially presents a cutting edge having cutting teeth which form a rough tooth system and which are circumferentially spaced from each other by intermediate tooth spaces. A cutting wheel shall be provided by which particularly flat displays but also other glass bodies can be produced with an improved quality of the separation planes and breaking edges and with minimum rejects also in different cases of application.

  • Publication number: 20090235802
Abstract: The invention relates to a small glass cutting wheel for producing a scribed predetermined breaking line, wherein the cutting wheel has a radial peripheral line which defines an outer periphery of the wheel and which lies in a main plane of the wheel and at least partially forms a cutting edge. The cutting edge includes cutting teeth (7) which are circumferentially spaced from each other by intermediate tooth spaces (8) and the height and/or circumferential extension of which exceeds a possible random surface roughness. For providing a small glass cutting wheel with which particularly flat displays can be manufactured with an improved edge quality and with which rejects during the necessary separation of the glass plate piece can be reduced, it is proposed that at least a part or preferably all intermediate tooth spaces (8) include a cutting edge (9).
