  • Patent number: 6199845
Abstract: In a spring support for a suspension strut of a motor vehicle, a spring collar is provided for supporting a coil spring. The spring support is connected in use with an outer tube of the spring strut. The spring collar comprises a pot-shaped receptacle for the outer tube of the spring strut. The collar is located eccentrically with respect to the outer tube and receptacle and has an annular spring coil support section located at an edge of the collar. This spring support section is connected with the pot-shaped receptacle by ribs that extend like the arms of a star toward the receptacle and have spaces between them. The spring support, including pot-shaped receptacle, ribs and annular spring coil support section, are formed as an integral cast part.

  • Patent number: 5626363
Abstract: An adjustable steering device for motor vehicles has a steering spindle which can be axially displaced in at least one jacket tube by way of an adjusting device. The adjusting device adjusting device is provided with an operable adjusting element which holds the steering spindle and releases it for the displacement. The adjusting element includes at least one pressure segment which is held by at least one elastic tensioning element in a receiving ring embracing the protective steering tube. It has a toothing which can be brought into a fixing and a displacement position by a corresponding toothing on a protective steering tube by way of at least one tensioning device. As a result, an adjustable steering device is provided which ensures a simple and secure axial displacement and fixing while the behavior in a crash is good.

  • Patent number: 5336268
Abstract: An adjustable hip joint endoprosthesis has an adjustable prosthesis head, which is connected with a stem that can be fixed in the femur. To absorb overloads, which would result in damage to the prosthesis part implanted into the femur and therefore in another implantation, a limiting element is provided. This limiting element is arranged in the prosthesis head and absorbs the overload by deformation, fracture or, in the case of a frictionally engaged connection, by sliding. After the occurrence of an overload, the limiting element must be replaced or re-adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4966270
Abstract: A hydraulically operated double clutch for a motor vehicle is used for the alternating coupling of a central shaft and a hollow shaft, which is concentric to this central shaft, of a speed change gear with the clutch housing driven by the engine output shaft. Thus a gear shifting becomes possible without an interruption of the traction force. The clutch housing is composed of a left cover plate and a lateral plate, of a right cover plate and a lateral plate as well as of a casing part connecting them. At the junction planes between the left cover plate and the lateral plate as well as the right cover plate and the lateral plate, annular pistons are fitted in, which can be acted upon by hydraulic pressure and, by means of cylindrical pins, resting against them on the end face, operate the two disk bundles.

  • Patent number: 4883142
Abstract: In a drive arrangement for a motor vehicle, with an engine, a clutch, a change-speed transmission and an axle drive, the drive connection from the transmission output shaft to the axle drive shafts driving the vehicle wheels is constructed U-shaped. The clutch housing flangedly connected to the engine housing protrudes into the U-shaped intermediate space.

  • Patent number: 4613184
Abstract: A body structure for a passenger motor vehicle includes an end unit provided with a support system formed by transverse and longitudinal supports; the support system is retained at a boundary wall of a passenger cell by a mounting arrangement including detachable elements. In order to achieve a good force translation from the end unit to the passenger cell and in order to be able to carry out a rapid and cost-favorable repair of the end unit in case of an accidental impact, several mounting devices for an upper longitudinal support and a lower longitudinal support of the support system are provided at the boundary wall, whereby the longitudinal supports of the support system are received by further supports so as to generally form a continuation of the support structure of the passenger cell.

  • Patent number: 4098293
Abstract: A coupling arrangement for pressure fluid lines which includes at least two coupling sections which are adapted to be selectively coupled and uncoupled. A separator device is arranged at least within the area of the coupling members when in a coupled position for separating the medium which is not compatible with the medium in the fluid pressure system and preventing the introduction of the non-compatible medium into the pressure fluid lines during a coupling operation.
