  • Patent number: 6668692
Abstract: The invention consists of a process for the control of the motorized feed drive for the movable workplace table of a machine tool, in particular the rolling carriage of a circular saw. The manual force that is applied by the operator in direction of the feed is sensed and converted to a corresponding measured value. From this a set value for the feed rate of the rolling carriage is created and from that is derived a control signal for the drive.

Date of Patent: December 30, 2003
Assignee: Wilhelm Altendorf GmbH & Co. KG

  • Patent number: 5713260
Abstract: The invention pertains to an apparatus for the precise adjustment of a longitudinally movable component on a spatial axis, especially for the adjustment of the lateral position of the pre-scoring saw blade of a circular saw. This apparatus distinguishes itself by a threaded bolt that is movable around its longitudinal axis, which is parallel to the spatial axis, and has two coaxial thread sections of identical thread orientation and unequal thread pitch. A first thread section engages in a first threaded hole that is immovable in the longitudinal direction of the spatial axis, while the other threaded section engages in a second threaded hole on the longitudinally movable component.

  • Patent number: 5544559
Abstract: An adjustable stop mechanism for limiting the movement of a rip fence toward the cutting plane of a tiltable panel saw as an automatic function of the selected orientation of an abutment bar. The abutment bar has first and second orientations alternately presenting an abutment face of relatively low height, located at a greater distance from a reference surface, and a relatively greater height, located at a relatively shorter distance from the reference surface. When the abutment bar is rotated to the low height orientation, as to accommodate tilting of the panel saw blade, a limit stop position of movement of the abutment bar toward the cutting plane is automatically altered, so that the limit stop for the abutment bar support is farther away from the cutting plane. When the bar is oriented to present a full height abutment face, the limit stop automatically is altered in response to such orientation, to permit the support to move closer to the cutting plane.

  • Patent number: 5490665
Abstract: A pivotable stop for machine tools, in particular panel saws, having a striker bar, on which a first stop flap is mounted in a longitudinally displaceable but fixed manner, and is connected to a measurement and display unit which determines and displays the relative position of the stop flap to the striker bar, and in which a rod can telescopically be extended and retracted, which bears a second stop flap at its free end, characterized in that a coupling placed at the measurement and display unit detachably connects the rod to the measurement and display unit.

  • Patent number: 4403534
Abstract: A work tool machine comprises a power tool, an exhaust hood assembly disposed over the power tool in a manner to permit access of a work piece thereto, and a stationary member spaced from the hood assembly. An elongated guide bar extending between the stationary member and the hood assembly is pivotally attached at one end to the stationary member for rotation about a first axis, and at the other end to the hood assembly for rotation about a second axis. An elongated conduit extending between the stationary member and the hood assembly in fluid communication with the hood assembly is pivotally attached at one end to the stationary member for rotation about a third axis, and at the other end to the hood for rotation about a fourth axis. The distance between the first and second axes is equal to the distance between the third and fourth axes, and the distance between the first and third axes is equal to the distance between the second and fourth axes. The conduit is connected to an exhaust fan.

  • Patent number: 3970127
Abstract: In a feed carriage for holding a workpiece, the carriage being mounted on a housing of a machine equipped with a working tool, and being located to one side of the tool, the carriage including a lower carriage portion and an upper carriage portion mounted for movement on the lower carriage portion, each portion being composed in the form of a light-metal profile, and the upper carriage portion and the lower carriage portion extending far beyond the machine housing in the direction of the length of the carriage, the upper carriage portion is constituted by a one-piece unit and is provided, on the side thereof adjacent the tool, with a closed profile member whose side facing the tool constitutes an outer wall which extends at an angle of approximately 45.degree. with respect to the clamping surface formed by the upper carriage portion.
