Abstract: A photometer for measuring gas components. The photometer has an infrared radiator with radiator modulation, a measuring cell with a measurement and comparison chamber, and a detector which absorbs optopneumatically onto the gas component X, that is filled with gas component X. In order in the case of a photometer of this type to render it possible for a plurality of gas components to be measured with high accuracy and the smallest possible outlay in apparatus, at least one further detector is arranged downstream of the first detector. For the purpose of measuring the gas component Y the further detector is filled with its isotope Y*, and the first detector is optically transparent with regard to the further gas component Y* to be measured or the characteristic absorption bands thereof.

Abstract: An illumination member with a diffuser in which spheres or particles having a different refractive index compared to the diffuser are distributed. The luminance on the output face of the diffuser can be controlled with the number, size and homogeneity of the diffused spheres or particles. A suitable illumination device can set the luminance to bright or dark depending on how it is operated. One preferred application is the illumination of liquid crystal displays or measuring devices in a motor vehicle.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a soluble cocoa product. Cocoa powder is subjected to an extraction with alcohol, particularly with ethanol, and from the residue a water extract is prepared. This water extract is concentrated and as a soluble cocoa product it can be put to many uses as basic substance for beverages, confectionary, ice-cream, pastries etc.

Abstract: For the purpose of attaching a strip of cloth provided with a zip-fastener component to a trouser forepart, first a rim of the strip of cloth and then the rim of the trouser forepart are folded over. The strip of cloth is arranged above the trouser forepart. Both folded-over rims are brought into a position relative to each other which they occupy after being joined together. Then they are brought into mutual contact and joined together with only a single seam in only one sewing operation. Thus very simple handling of the parts to be sewn together is achieved along with a very simple design of the required sewing units.

Abstract: An automatic sewing machine has two feeding devices, each having a workpiece holder, each of which, when in a sewing position, can be raised up into a position some distance above a carrier plate and, at this distance above the carrier plate, can be moved over the other workpiece holder situated on the carrier plate to a transfer position. The purpose of these measures is to minimize the cycle time with the lowest possible expense and to increase the output of the automatic sewing machine as much as possible while largely avoiding idling paths.

Abstract: An automatic sewing machine for successively sewing workpieces, which, in particular, are flexibly connected to one another by at least one thread chain, is provided with a reel subsequently arranged to a sewing head for receiving sewn workpieces on its substantially cylindrical core. In order to render possible a trouble-free feeding, initial catching and winding of the workpieces, a lower winder support is positioned in front of the reel for feeding and guiding the workpieces to the core of the reel. Moreover, there may be provided an upper winder support which is lowerable towards the core and which at least partially encases the latter at a side opposite the lower winder support.

Abstract: An automatic sewing machine installed with a sewing head and a feeding device is disclosed for successively sewing workpieces which are flexibly connnected to one another by a thread chain. The feeding device is arranged with a workpiece holder for receiving the workpiece and guiding the latter according to the extension of a seam situated in the workpiece.In order to simplify automatic sewing processes in front of the sewing head, there is arranged a reel carrying workpieces still to be provided with the seam. Behind the sewing head there is arranged a reel for receiving the sewn workpieces. The reel installed in front of the sewing head is stationarily arranged in a position relative to the workpiece holder. Between the sewing head and the reel arranged behind the sewing head there is installed a further feeding device.

Abstract: A method and a device for producing a pocket on a workpiece in which a pocket cut is folded at a margin of two lateral portions and one bottom portion connecting the lateral portions and attached by a stitch row to a workpiece. According to the invention, the folded pocket cut is additionally formed with folds situated in the lateral portions so as to manufacture extensible and spacious bellow-typed pockets. The device for producing such extensible pockets on workpieces is equipped with a workpiece folding device for folding the pocket according to the method described, a sewing machine and a control system for controlling a relative motion between the needle of the sewing machine and the workpiece and the folded pocket cut, so as to automatically perform a fastening stitch row according to a predetermined contour for attaching the folded pocket cut onto the workpiece.

Abstract: A feeding device for an automatic sewing arrangement producing a stitch row according to a predetermined contour in a workpiece is installed with a linkage system having a control disc. The linkage system is provided with a workpiece clamping plate movably arranged in a plane and operably connected to the control disc. Furthermore, the workpiece clamping plate is movably received on a drive-off-lever of the linkage system. A linear drive with control elements is provided for displacing the workpiece clamping plate and locking the latter in at least two positions. Control means for at least interrupting the sewing operation during the displacement of the workpiece clamping plate are provided at the linkage system.
