  • Patent number: 6223875
Abstract: A conveyor section for transporting items in a conveying direction. The conveyor section defines a transport plane, and includes a stop roller having a rotational axis and an outer surface and being movable between an upper position in which the stop roller rises at least partially above the transport plane for stopping the items, and a lower position in which the transport plane is tangential to the outer surface of the stop roller. In its lower position, the stop roller functions as a conveyor roller for the items. The conveyor section further includes a guide for guiding a movement of the stop roller between its upper position and its lower position, and a pretensioned spring operatively connected to the stop roller for applying an upward force to the stop roller thus urging the stop roller in an upward direction. The application of at least a minimum predetermined downward force to the stop roller overcomes the upward force of the spring for moving the stop roller to its lower position.

  • Patent number: 5730270
Abstract: A switching device with a swiveling deflector for delivering goods to be transported from one of at least two delivery channels. The swiveling deflector is positioned at the free end of a leaf spring clamped into a bearing block. The force is introduced into the swiveling deflector, and the surface of the swiveling deflector has a predetermined curvature. The cross section of the swiveling deflector is tapered in the direction counter to the bearing block, and the bearing block has a horn-like shape. The bearing block and the swiveling deflector have respective concave and convex connecting regions in the bearing region of the leaf spring, and wherein the bearing block has a recess that extends along one region of the leaf spring, within which the leaf spring is freely movable during the swiveling movement.

  • Patent number: 5311999
Abstract: In a method of distributing packages according to addresses, headings or the like applied to their surfaces by means of a separating and conveying device, it is provided that along a conveying path all surface portions of each previously separated package are scanned optically, for each package images are obtained from the surface portions of the package and, for further evaluation, the images are displayed simultaneously or approximately simultaneously. For each package, one or a plurality of the images are selected, and each selected image is assigned a sorting information for the distribution of the package corresponding to that image.

  • Patent number: 5295572
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for pivoting a pivotable module out of the path of a conveyor belt. The device is composed of a coupling triangle whose corner points are pivotally arranged in such a manner that one corner point is pivotally disposed at the pivotable module and the other two corner points are pivotally arranged at the piston rods of actuating cylinders. The housings of the actuating cylinders constitute the fixing points for the pivoting movement of the coupling triangle. The pivoting movement of the coupling triangle is effected in that only one cylinder is actuated and the other cylinder remains in its withdrawn or extended state to act as a rod.

  • Patent number: 5280694
Abstract: An apparatus for stacking small goods, particularly small packages, in a container, the apparatus including a separating module by means of which the small goods are conducted over a surface disposed upstream of the container. The opening of the container is arranged to be pivotal at the end of the surface and a pusher is disposed on the surface so as to move in the direction of the container opening, the apparatus further including a retaining threshold and a downwardly pivotal rake that is arranged downstream of the retaining threshold.

  • Patent number: 5261521
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for turning small goods, particularly packages, on a conveyor belt and resides in that the apparatus is composed of mutually perpendicular transporting surfaces which form an independent part of the conveyor belt and are pivotal by way of a pivot drive partially or entirely about 90.degree. in such a manner that, after a 90.degree. pivoting process, the transporting surface which was flush in the conveyor belt direction on transporting surface is flush with the conveyor belt surface and the surface that was flush in the direction of the conveyor belt before the pivoting process is perpendicular to the conveyor belt surface.

  • Patent number: 5205393
Abstract: An apparatus for transferring small goods from a main conveyor belt onto a branch-off conveyor belt, the apparatus including a pivotal lateral guide perpendicular to the conveyor belt. The main conveyor belt as well as the beginning of the branch-off conveyor belt are provided with a pivotal module, with each module including two lateral conveyor belts that are perpendicular to the conveyor belt and the lateral conveyor belts of the pivotal module of the main conveyor belt have the same length while the lateral conveyor belts of the pivotal module of the branch-off conveyor belt have different lengths, with the difference in length corresponding to the offset of the lateral conveyor belts of the main conveyor belt in the pivoted-out state.

  • Patent number: 5188210
Abstract: A modular conveyor system for the conveyance and distribution of individual items or continuous materials by means of conveyors and in particular conveyor belts. The conveyor system includes two or more conveyor modules mounted one after the other or aligned on a base frame, with each conveyor module having a rack on which a floor belt and two lateral guide belts are mounted. The rack of each conveyor module is mounted so that it can be moved relative to the base and to the other conveyor modules to discharge material from the respective conveyor module. An intermediate member is provided between each two adjacent conveyor modules and abuts each of the adjacent conveyor modules to provide a continuous conveyor path between adjacent conveyor modules.
