    Abstract: A hair setting gel composition comprising (A) from 0.2 to 5% by weight of a partially of completely neutralized salt of a crosslinked carboxyvinyl polymer, (B) from 0.5 to 10% by weight of an amphoteric resin, and (C) from 85 to 99.5% by weight of a solvent mainly comprising water and/or a lower alcohol, with the total of the components (A), (B) and (C) being 100% by weight. The gel composition is excellent in transparency and hair setting performance.
