    Abstract: Substrate materials are prevented from deteriorating from exposure to intense heat by protecting the substrate with aluminum foil having at least one surface thereof roughened and subjecting said substrate to heat. The foil is capable of resisting temperatures in excess of 1,000.degree. C.
