  • Patent number: 5946977
Abstract: A collapsible steering column includes a bellows tube with a corrugated portion in which the radius varies regularly along the length of the tube. A connective portion is located at both ends of the bellows tube, and transfer portions are located between each of the connective portions and the corrugated portion. By inserting a reinforcement into the end portion of the bellows tube, the strength and rigidity of the connective portion increases. Press forming, stamp forming, rivet forming, and/or adhesive methods are applied to connect the end portion of the bellows tube and the reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 5799533
Abstract: A distributed pressure sensor is constructed such that a wire-like electrode member is arranged in the vertical (row) direction so that electrode surfaces alternately appear on the surface and the rear surface of a sheet-shaped pressure sensitive electrically conductive material, and moreover, a wire-like electrode is arranged also in the lateral (line) direction at right angles to the vertical (row) direction, and intersections defined by the electrode members arranged in the vertical direction and the lateral direction are located such that the pressure sensitive electrically conductive material is sandwiched from both the surfaces. The distributed pressure sensor has high flexibility and exhibits improved durability to repeated bending.

  • Patent number: 5099580
Abstract: A power saw structure having a pivot provided on a forward lower portion of the housing of the drive for providing a fulcrum on a subjacent surface about which the saw structure may be pivoted so as to safely urge the forward distal end of the saw chain into the subjacent surface while maintaining the chain saw structure supported on the subjacent surface through the pivot. In the illustrated embodiment, the pivot structure is a separate structure secured to the housing of the drive. The pivot structure includes an upwardly extending forward portion for supporting the saw structure on the subjacent surface throughout the full range of swinging movement of the saw in cutting through the subjacent surface.

  • Patent number: 4186402
Abstract: An aerial system (antenna system) comprisesdual-reflector aerial consisting of a main reflector and subreflector;a primary feed whose input and output ends are fixed for elevation and azimuth rotation of said dual-reflector aerial;a plane reflector which is turned together with said dual-reflector aerial around an elevation rotating axis;a first curved reflector for reflecting waves generated from said primary feed; andsecond and third curved reflectors which sequentially reflect to lead the wave reflected by said first curved reflector to said plane reflector.
