  • Patent number: 4011628
Abstract: A hinge means for a pivotable window includes a link, formed as a casing and enclosing two meshing gears connecting two pivots, of which one is adapted to be attached to the casement, and the other is adapted to be connected to the frame. These gears will govern the movement of the frame with respect to the link, and the movement of the link with respect to the casing, so the frame will swing about twice as much in relation to the casing as the link will do. Both gears cooperate with braking members at the link, so a continuous braking force is at hand all during a 180.degree. turn of the frame. The attachment for the link at the frame includes a fitting and a fitting plate, having hook means and mating grooves, respectively shaped to ensure a safe retention of the frame in the casement, but permitting an easy mounting and dismounting of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4001924
Abstract: A buckle part or fitting to be attached to a piece of fabric includes first and second parts adapted to be held in position by at least one post passing through the fabric, one of said parts being provided with a recess and the other part having a raised portion of somewhat smaller peripheral size than the recess, so the fabric will be compressed into the recess when the two parts are clamped together. The two parts are made of a material having high frictional properties, whereby the posts are self locking in their mating bores; in fittings subjected to heavy wear, an extra post adapted to be upset in its bore may be provided as a safety measure.

  • Patent number: 3996647
Abstract: Buttons, especially for workmen's and leisure clothing include riveted to the fabric; a button thus including a male portion and a female portion. The riveting requires a hole being punched in the fabric, and the two portions of the button must be designed in such a manner that they are securely retained. By manufacturing the portions of a material having high frictional properties and shaping and selecting the dimensions of the stud of the male part and the mating bore of the female portion with a negative clearance, not only a secure retention, but also an ability of "self punching" the necessary hole in the fabric is obtained. For use with heavier fabric the female portion may be reinforced with a metal lining.

  • Patent number: 3954115
Abstract: For dental hygiene an implement is provided, which can pick interproximal spaces, as well as scrape the tartar off teeth faces. The implement is made of resilient material, is small, handy and inconspicuous. An instrument according to the invention comprises a cleaning portion having a channel shaped cross section tapering into a point, as well as a picking portion formed unitary therewith, so each portion can serve as a handle for the other portion. The side faces of both portions are partly roughened in order to provide an abrading surface.
