  • Patent number: 4622701
Abstract: A rocker beam construction for use with plumbing fixtures, for insertion within a drain tube to transmit stopper opening motion from a drain actuating linkage acting at one end of the drain tube, to the stopper located at the other end of the drain tube, comprises a unitary beam having a relatively thin deep substantially flat subsection transversely flexible relative to the plane of the web, which may be inserted within the drain tube by turning the beam on its side and bending it down through the drain aperture and into the drain tube, where it is repositioned having the web thereof in a vertical plane for engagement by the actuating linkage in a downward depressing motion, the improved device having a post portion connecting one end of the rocker beam with the stopper, to transfer rocking downward displacement of the beam by the actuating linkage into upward rocking displacement of the stopper means.

  • Patent number: 4493338
Abstract: Disclosed is a removable cartridge for a fluid valve which uses a simple O-ring to seal with the housing in which the cartridge is received. The valve comprises a body member having an axial inlet opening at one end and at least one transverse outlet opening. A valve seat is secured in the inlet opening and a valve means is positioned in the body member for axial movement toward and away from the seat. The seat extends beyond the body member and has a circumferentially extending groove to receive an O-ring for providing a seal with a housing in which the cartridge is received.

  • Patent number: 4478367
Abstract: A pulsating spray head is provided for attachment to a source of fluid under pressure, e.g. water, which is of simple construction and provides for effective pulsations. The head comprises a housing in which is mounted a body portion which is closed off by a primary plate having a plurality of rows of radially extending perforations. A pulse disc is retained within the body portion and has a conical face resting on the primary plate. Fluid flow through the body portion causes the disc to roll around on the primary plate and sequentially block the rows of perforations in the primary plate whereby pressure fluctuations are caused in fluid exiting the primary plate. In a preferred embodiment, an orifice plate is secured in spaced relation to the primary plate to form at least one pressure chamber therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4241749
Abstract: A pressure compensating mixing valve incorporating a flow control spool has an equalizing passage interconnecting opposite end zones of the spool, to reduce or obviate the need for connecting the respective end portions of the spool to pressure fluid supplies, such as the respective valve outputs. This reduces the significance of spool seals, owing to equalization of pressure between certain pressurized zones, so that seal leakage is of lessened adverse significance. Also valve malfunction due to silting-up or liming-up is made less probable.

  • Patent number: 4094333
Abstract: A pressure regulating valve is provided having a balance diaphragm for positioning a slide valve in flow controlling relation to maintain a fluid outlet in pressure balanced relation despite pressure variations at the inlet. The valve arrangement includes in combination with the inlet a pre-sensing chamber to apply a biassing force component on the valve member in a closing direction, responsive to inlet pressure. In a further embodiment utilizing a pair of such valves in opposed mutually balancing relation as a pressure balancing valve, in addition to modifying the characteristic valve response time, the arrangement has the particular benefit of being able to virtually close off the flow from one of the two sources of line pressure in the event that pressure at the respective other inlet falls to an ineffective value. While useful with many fluids, particular utility is found in mixing hot and cold liquids.

  • Patent number: 4085469
Abstract: A drain plug in the outlet of a plumbing fixture such as a lavatory basin or bath is connected with the waste control handle by means of a flexible cable loosely contained within a flexible tube extending through the overflow pipe and the drain pipe, to obviate the need for seals in conjunction with the waste actuator system, and permitting ready replacement of the cable and tube. A plastic tube used in combination with a plastic cable in loose fitting relation therein provides a low cost and practical combination, having a simple attachment clip to permit ready installation or replacement.
