Abstract: A box-like picture display unit is arranged to display two framed pictures in windows (12 and 13). The pictures are moved in turn from a stack (15) by movement of a carriage (14) up and down. When the carriage (14) is moved upwards, a finger (18) engages a recess (20) in a back of a rear picture in the stack and lifts and carries the picture to the window (12). When the carriage moves downwards, a fixed arm (21) pushes the picture down from the window (12) to opposite the window (13), and in front of the stack (15). The carriage is moved down by manually pressing on a top part (25) of the carriage. The carriage is moved upwards automatically under the action of a pair of coiled springs (26), the springs being charged; i.e., wound up, during and by downward movement of the carriage (14).

Abstract: A combination exercise gripper and calculator includes an electronic calculator, with a keypad, a power source, a visual display means, such as a liquid crystal display, and a calculating computing means, which is responsive to manual input from sequential depression of selected keys of the keypad for determining mathematical calculations. A switch is used to calculate these mathematical inputs. The manual griping means, including a pair of depressible handles, which are forcibly separated by a compressible spring wherein compression of the handles towards each other compresses this spring to provide a resistance against the compression. The switch includes a physical condition sensor, communicating with the calculating means. The switch is responsive to the calculating means upon compression of the handles. A counter is used to count the number of compressions the user has made by squeezing the handles.

Abstract: A desktop item which comprises a body having upper and lower sides and a cover for covering the upper side. The cover is connected to the body by means of a pair of links for relative movement between a top position covering the upper body side and a bottom position lying upside-down and immediately underneath the lower body side. The desktop item includes a spring resiliently biasing the cover towards the bottom position, and a latch for holding the cover in the top position against the action of the spring. Release of the latch permits the cover to move to the bottom position under the action of the spring. The subject desktop item may be in the form of a calculator or a memo pad holder or the like.

Abstract: A disc storage container comprising a base (10) and a lid (11). A disc selector (15) has a probe (27) that moves with and when the lid opens to urge against a selected disc lift (23) and so that it partially lifts one of the discs up from a stack of discs stored in the container. This enables easily selection of a chosen disc and manual removal from the container of the chosen disc.
