  • Patent number: 7731557
Abstract: A toy airplane with a specialized launching configuration. The toy airplane has a body that extends between a nose and a tail. A roller assembly is disposed at the nose of the toy airplane. The roller assembly includes a free rotating finger roll that protrudes to the left and to the right of the nose. When a person launches the toy airplane, that person places his/her fingers behind the finger rolls on either side of the nose. As a person makes a throwing motion, the fingers roll off of the finger rolls just as the toy airplane is reaching its maximum velocity. The presence of the finger rolls, therefore, prevents a person from holding onto the toy airplane too long as it is being thrown.

  • Publication number: 20090205580
Abstract: The present invention is a pet toy assembly for use in playing with a pet, especially a cat. The pet toy assembly uses a pole with a handle at one end. A tether extends from the pole at the end opposite the handle. A motorized object is coupled to the tether so as to be suspended by the tether. The motorized object has a body and at least one appendage that extends from the body. The motor within the motorized object causes the appendage to wage or flap, thereby making the motorized object see=m alive to a pet. The motorized object is powered by batteries stored in the handle at the end of the pole. The power is transferred from the batteries to the motor in the motorized object through the structure of the tether.

  • Publication number: 20090036020
Abstract: An animation system for animating parts of a novelty object. A novelty object is provided that has movable opposing parts. An electromagnet and another magnetic source are attached to the opposing parts. The electromagnet creates an electromagnetic field when activated that causes movement between the opposing parts. The movement of the opposing parts animates the novelty object. The activation of the electromagnet can be controlled by sound so that the animation is synchronized to audible signals.

  • Patent number: 7481691
Abstract: A flying toy has a handle and a driving mechanism to spin a propeller assembly for launching, the propeller assembly having blades on the top end and a freely rotatable conical sleeve on the bottom end. The handle comprises a plurality of pinch rollers surrounding the driving mechanism such that when the driving mechanism is activated to spin the blades, the pinch rollers are moved inward to engage with the conical sleeve for holding the propeller assembly while the blades are spun, and the pinch rollers are moved away from the conical sleeve for launching the propeller assembly. The flying toy also has a landing platform affixed to the handle, the platform having a funnel-shaped receptacle to receive the bottom end of the propeller assembly. The receptacle wall has soft fins for hampering the spinning of the propeller assembly when receiving a descending propeller assembly.

The flying toy also has a landing platform affixed to the handle, the platform having a circular trough to hold a dispensable material such as a bubble solution. The propeller assembly has a plurality of nozzles dimensioned to be seated in the trough for picking up the dispensable material so that the material can be scattered when the propeller assembly is released from the landing platform.

  • Publication number: 20060232824
Abstract: An engraving system that uses a child-safe engraving device and its associated method of operation. The child-safe engraving device includes a housing, where an engraving head selectively extends from the housing. The engraving head is positionable between an extended position, where the engraving head extends out of the housing, and a retracted position where the engraving head is retracted within the housing. A spring is used to bias the engraving head into its extended position. The engraving head moves into its retracted position when the engraving head is pressed against a surface with a force that surpasses the biasing force of the spring. A secondary object is provided that has at least one surface of malleable material. The malleable material is capable of being engraved by the engraving head using an application force that is less than that needed to retract the engraving head.

  • Publication number: 20050282464
Abstract: A system comprising a rotating device, a finger supported charging assembly for powering the rotating device, and a hand pad assembly for holding the rotating device as it spins. The rotating device has a housing with a base upon which the housing spins. An electric motor is contained within the housing that causes the housing to spin when the motor is activated. The finger supported charging assembly includes two contacts that are coupled to opposite terminals of a battery pack. The contacts are worn on opposing fingers and come into contact with the rotating device when the base of the rotation device is supported with the opposing fingers. When contacting the rotating device, the contacts on the opposing fingers provide electricity to the rotating device. The hand pad assembly attaches to a user's hand providing rigid surfaces on the hand that support the rotating device as it spins.

  • Patent number: 6685531
Abstract: A system comprising a rotating device and a support structure for the rotating device, wherein the support structure provides the power to the rotational device than is required to maintain spin. The rotating device has a housing with a base upon which the housing spins. An electric motor is contained within the housing that causes the housing to spin when the motor is activated. The base of the rotating device can be selectively placed on a support structure. The support structure can promote spinning in the rotating device in one of two ways. In the first way, the support structure provides electricity to the rotating device that powers the motor in the rotating device. In the second way, the support structure can generate a magnetic field that reinforces the magnetic field created by the motor in the rotating device.
