  • Patent number: 10449992
Abstract: An adjustable steering column may include a casing tube that rotatably supports a steering spindle, a holding part that has two lateral cheeks between which the casing tube is positioned, and an electromechanical fixing device. In a release position of the fixing device, the casing tube may be adjustable relative to the holding part. In a fixing position, a set position of the casing tube may be fixed relative to the holding part. The fixing device may include a clamping bolt that passes through the lateral cheeks and is rotatable about its axis by an electric motor positioned in a housing as the fixing device is opened and closed, a cam mechanism, and a support bearing. The lateral cheeks and the casing tube may be positioned between the cam mechanism and the support bearing. A first cam disk of the cam mechanism may rotate with the clamping bolt, and a second cam disk may be guided on the clamping bolt so as to be axially movable in the housing.

  • Patent number: 9738303
Abstract: An example arrangement comprising at least one spring body and at least one separately formed locking part for engagement in an engagement element of a steering column of a vehicle may involve pivotably mounting the spring body and the locking part about a common pivoting axis. The spring body may have at least one spring tongue for spring loading the locking part and at least one fastening part for fastening the spring body on a bolt of the steering column. The spring body may have at least one latching device for latching and unlatching the spring body into at least one and from at least one mating latching device of the locking part.

  • Patent number: 8827311
Abstract: The invention relates to a spring element including at least one spring tongue for spring-loading a separate locking part of a steering column of a motor vehicle and at least one fastening part for fastening the spring element to a pin of the steering column. The spring element also has at least one carrier arm, preferably at least two carrier arms, arranged opposite each other for carrying along the locking part when the spring element moves.

  • Patent number: 8689659
Abstract: A steering column for a motor vehicle includes a first and a second part, which in the event of a vehicle crash can be displaced relative to each other in a displacement direction. At least one absorption element acts between the two parts for absorbing energy during the mutual displacement of the two parts, and at least one shift unit, which includes a shift component that can be shifted between a passive and an active shift position. The amount of the energy absorbed during the mutual displacement of the two parts differs in the passive and the active shift position of the shift component.
