  • Publication number: 20240110718
Abstract: A ventilation system with automatic flow balancing derived from a neural network to consistently achieve a desired flow rate for inlet flow and/or outlet flow in various operating environments to optimize system performance. The system includes a ventilation device that includes an exhaust blower assembly with a blower motor and a control circuit having a mathematical equation derived from the use of the neural network. When the estimated exhaust blower flow is different than an exhaust flow set point, the exhaust control circuit selectively alters power supplied to the exhaust motor.

Abstract: A ventilation system with automatic flow balancing derived from a neural network to consistently achieve a desired flow rate for inlet flow and/or outlet flow in various operating environments to optimize system performance. The system includes a ventilation device that includes an exhaust blower assembly with a blower motor and a control circuit having a mathematical equation that determines an estimated exhaust blower flow based upon select inputs. The ventilation device also includes a supply blower assembly with a blower motor and control circuit having a mathematical equation that determines an estimated supply blower flow based upon select inputs. When the estimated exhaust blower flow is different than an exhaust flow set point, the exhaust control circuit selectively alters power supplied to the exhaust motor. When the estimated supply blower flow is different than a supply flow set point, the supply control circuit selectively alters power supplied to the supply motor.

  • Patent number: 11300307
Abstract: A damper control assembly includes a damper body movable between a first threshold position and a second threshold position. A motor is operably connected to the damper body, wherein the motor drives the damper between the first threshold position to determine an open position and the second threshold position to determine a closed position. A controller is operably connected to the motor and has a stall detection module that detects a first rotor-lock condition when the motor drives the damper body to the first threshold position and a second rotor-lock condition when the motor drives the damper body to the second threshold position. The controller includes a memory module for storing the first and second threshold positions for use by the controller. The damper control assembly is calibrated to drive the damper body within an operating range having the open and closed positions and that is less extensive than a mechanical range defined by the first and second threshold positions.

  • Publication number: 20170130983
Abstract: An energy recovery ventilator (“ERV”) connecting an outside air intake to an outside air supply for an AHU or an interior space. The ERV includes a damper for controlling the outside air inflow to the AHU or the interior space. A humidity sensor and a temperature sensor can be mounted within the inlet air path proximate the damper to monitor the temperature and humidity of outside air approaching the ERV through the outside air intake. The damper can be positioned to according to the measured temperature and humidity of the outside air to control the outside air being supplied to the AHU or the interior space.

  • Patent number: 9269398
Abstract: The invention is for player/recording systems for AN content such as DVD+RW, HDD, Blu-ray RE that record content from broadcast. To navigate through the content the player provides menus allowing the user can select content to watch. Passive content is replaced with active agents so that each piece of content will also contain a program part. The action by a user selecting a piece of content to play results in the program part being executed instead of the content being played. This program part displays menus that allow the user to navigate this particular piece of content, or alternatively, the program part may just start playing the AN content. Playing the actual content is under the control of the application. At the end of the content, the application decides the next action, such as displaying another menu. The application chooses when to exit the content (based on user action or end of content) and returns to the player menus.

  • Patent number: 7486729
Abstract: A video recording and logging device includes apparatus to detect scene changes (as distinct from shot cuts or edit points) in audio/video signals. The apparatus includes a filtering arrangement which receives and filters the audio soundtrack accompanying the video signal to periodically determine a background audio signal level. A scene change is indicated when the current background audio level differs from a previous background level by more than a predetermined amount. A short cut or edit point presented near the indicated scene change is identified as the scene change. Preferably changes in background noise distant from shot cuts and edit points are ignored. A table of scene change locations may then be built up and stored with the video and audio data. An editing facility presents scene changes as the first picture in the scene and allows scene change identifications to be added, deleted or labeled by a human editor.

  • Patent number: 6877068
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and device (100) for prefetching referenced resources (105) from servers (102, 103, 104). A first resource (106) is scanned for unfetched references (107), which are weighted and prefetched in the order of their weight. The computation of the weight is based on the number of times the resource referenced by the reference has been fetched previously, and on the number of times one or more further resources have been fetched previously from a server that serves the resource referenced by the reference. The device (100) can be realized as a computer program product.

  • Publication number: 20020126758
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting scene changes (as distinct from shot cuts or edit points) in audio/video signals is disclosed, together with video recording and logging apparatus employing such detection. The means for detecting scene changes comprises a filtering arrangement (20) which receives and filters the audio soundtrack accompanying the video signal to periodically determine a background audio signal level. By comparison (24) of current and previously determined (22) background levels, a scene change (SC) is flagged when the current background audio level differs from a previous background level by more than a predetermined amount. A table of scene change locations may then be built up and stored with the video and audio data.
