Patent number: 11968900Abstract: An apparatus 10 for poling piezoelectric material includes a platen 22 which holds a sample 20 of piezoelectric material to be poled and a stage 30 to which the platen is mounted. The stage 30 is arranged to selectively move the platen 22 and thereby the sample 20 which the platen 22 holds. The platen 22 is movable by the stage 30 selectively between a first position and a second position. A corona source 40 generates a corona to which the sample 20 is exposed when the platen 22 is moved to the first position by the stage 30. An electrostatic voltmeter 60 having a probe 62 measures a surface potential of the sample 20 when the platen 22 is moved to the second position by the stage 30.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2020Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Johann Junginger, Simon Burke, Sarah Vella

Publication number: 20150085599Abstract: A mixing process and system can include a plurality of magnetic particles within a fluid such as a liquid or solid to be mixed. The fluid to be mixed is dispensed within a mixing zone that may include a mixing tube. Two or more opposing electromagnets are independently activated out of sync to affect a travel path of the magnetic particles to form a turbulence within the fluid to provide an effective mixing of the fluid. The magnetic particles may be removed from the fluid, for example by filtering, or may remain within the fluid.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2013Publication date: March 26, 2015Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Yu Liu, Ke Zhou, Frank Ping-Hay Lee, Yulin Wang, Gaetano Lavigne, Jun Zhao, Simon Burke

Patent number: 8060846Abstract: Embodiments of a method for detecting potential areas of inductive coupling in a high density integrated circuit design are described. The inductance mitigation process first converts the inductive analysis into a density problem. The density of wires within a region that may switch within a portion of the system clock are compared to the density of wires will not switch within that same time. Regions of the chip that have a high ratio of density of switching wires versus non-switching wires are determined to have the potential of an inductive coupling problem. Additional grounded metal is added into the problematic regions of the chip to improve the switching versus non-switching wire density.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2007Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.Inventors: Stuart A. Taylor, Edward M. Roseboom, Simon Burke
