  • Patent number: 4592195
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for making cabled yarns of considerable regularity wherein a first yarn is firstly braked by a progressive brake, then it is subjected to a false twist. A second yarn is braked in order to impose a very regular tension thereon. The two yarns pass through a rotating system comprising two pulleys coupled with each other which ensure that the advance of these two yarns is identical. The composite or cabled yarn then passes through a system for stopping the progression of the twist. Finally, the cabled yarn arrives at a distribution device, care being taken to provide a large distance d between the distribution device and the last point of guiding of the yarn which is located opposite the center of the stroke of the yarn distribution device. The invention is more particularly applicable to the manufacture for cabled yarns for pneumatic tires.

  • Patent number: 4391090
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for pneumatically threading a yarn in a double twist spindle. It is disposed inside a sleeve connecting two tubes adapted to constitute the central shaft of a double twist spindle. A yarn brake capsule passing through the flat rod of a piston is disposed inside the sleeve, its ends abutting against the opening of the bore of one tube and against that of the central hole of an end piece mounted at the end of the other tube. When compressed air is sent into the bore of the first tube, the piston is moved, causing a lateral shift of the yarn brake capsule, thus allowing passage of the yarn along the bore of the spindle. The invention is particularly applicable to double twist spindles.

  • Patent number: 4175717
Abstract: A continuously twisting or doubling machine of the type comprising a bobbin holder or creel linked to the frame of the machine so as to take two positions: an operating position and a loading position respectively, the creel or bobbin holder comprising a latch for locking it automatically in either one of the two positions and the latch being such as to permit automatic unlocking of the creel or bobbin holder merely by moving it without any direct manipulation of the members of the latch.
