  • Patent number: 11921064
Abstract: The invention relates to a detection arrangement, a detection system comprising said arrangement, and a method of processing data from said arrangement. The detector arrangement disclosed comprises at least one array of detectors, wherein the detectors are configured to detect photons emitted from an object as a result of positron annihilation due to irradiation of the object with photons of a predetermined energy. Each detector in the array is linked to or associated with one or more other detector in the array to define a region of interest (RoI). The detector arrangement comprises or is communicatively coupled to a coincidence trigger unit which is configured to register or determine a coincidence in response to receiving detection signals from two different detectors forming part of the same RoI and indicating detection of substantially back-to-back co-linear and co-incident photons in the RoI.

  • Patent number: 11848206
Abstract: A method of producing graphene or other two-dimensional material such as graphene including heating the substrate held within a reaction chamber to a temperature that is within a decomposition range of a precursor, and that allows two-dimensional crystalline material formation from a species released from the decomposed precursor; establishing a steep temperature gradient (preferably >1000° C. per meter) that extends away from the substrate surface towards an inlet for the precursor; and introducing precursor through the relatively cool inlet and across the temperature gradient towards the substrate surface. The steep temperature gradient ensures that the precursor remains substantially cool until it is proximate the substrate surface thus minimizing decomposition or other reaction of the precursor before it is proximate the substrate surface. The separation between the precursor inlet and the substrate is less than 100 mm.

  • Patent number: 11335468
Abstract: A uranium oxide fuel pellet having an inner region and an outer rim region about the inner region, and that the fuel pellet is cylindrical and the inner region and outer rim region are coaxial cylindrical regions. The outer rim region has an excess of oxygen in comparison to the inner region, wherein high burnup structure (HBS) formation will be suppressed or delayed. Preferably, the excess oxygen is obtained by a chemical treatment by immersing the pellet in hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) or potassium permanganate (KMnO4) in solution.

  • Patent number: 11317083
Abstract: An image sensor may be formed from stacked first and second substrates. An array of imaging pixels and verification circuitry may be formed in the first substrate. Row control circuitry may be formed in the second substrate. The row control circuitry may provide row control signals to the array of imaging pixels. The verification circuitry may also receive the row control signals from the row control circuitry. The first substrate may include a plurality of n-channel metal-oxide semiconductor transistors and may not include any p-channel metal-oxide semiconductor transistors. The verification circuitry may include an SR latch circuit with an S node coupled to a pull-up line and an R node coupled to a pull-down transistor to ensure the SR latch circuit starts up in a set state. The verification circuitry may include a level shifter that shifts a control signal voltage when the control signal is at a low level.
