  • Patent number: 11540923
Abstract: A ceramic acetabular cup devoid of a separate liner comprises a part-spherical inner articulating surface and an outer surface. An inner radius at or adjacent to a rim of the cup extends to or adjacent to a surface edge of the inner articulating surface. An inner radius of the inner articulating surface defines an active arc, and an uppermost portion of the rim defines an offset datum plane. An offset is provided between an equatorial centre of the inner articulating surface and the offset datum plane. The active arc extends in a range from around 150 degrees to less than 180 degrees, and a distance between the inner articulating surface and outer surface on a straight line from the said equatorial centre and passing through the surface edge is equal to or less than 4 mm.

  • Patent number: 11331133
Abstract: A redressing device (100) for redressing a tapered portion (12) of an orthopaedic implant (10) comprising: a grinding member (110) adapted to engage the tapered portion (12); an adjustable guide element (130) for defining, at least in part, the degree of redressing required for said tapered portion (12) by a user; and a drive shaft (120) for driving movement of said grinding member (110). A device for retaining debris produced during redressing a tapered portion (12) of an orthopaedic implant (12), a surgical kit for redressing a tapered portion (12) of an orthopaedic implant (10) and a method of redressing a tapered portion (12) of an orthopaedic implant (10) are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11278414
Abstract: A ceramic femoral resurfacing head prosthesis (110) comprises a ceramic convex outer contact surface (112) engagable with an acetabulum of a patient or an acetabular cup prosthesis and a concave inner fixation surface (114) having an inner-land portion (128), the ceramic convex outer contact surface (112) and the concave inner fixation surface (114) extending to intersect each other at a rim (116). A ceramic stem (120) projects from the concave inner fixation surface (114), and is adapted to be received by a stem bore. The concave inner fixation surface (114) includes a skirt (134) which is cylindrical or substantially cylindrical, or frusto-conical or substantially frusto-conical, and at least one circumferentially elongate recess (136) at the skirt (134).

  • Patent number: 10769631
Abstract: A method includes receiving a purchase order via a telephone call from a customer. As part of the phone call, a credentials service customer identifier assigned to the customer is received from the customer. The method further includes transmitting a message to a credentials service that issued the customer identifier. Payment credentials are received from the credentials service. The payment credentials include a payment token that is associated with a payment account that belongs to the customer. The method further includes generating a payment account system authorization request message. The authorization request message includes the payment token. In addition, the method includes transmitting the authorization request message for routing to an issuer of the payment account.

  • Publication number: 20200234301
Abstract: In a payment-enabled smartphone, a customer verification method (CVM) may be performed without prompting the user to provide any input. An outcome of the resulting passive CVM process may be an input to a risk based decision process performed by the smartphone, by a point of sale terminal and/or by an issuer of a payment card account accessed via the payment-enabled smartphone. The risk based decision process may determine whether a payment transaction is approved or declined.

  • Publication number: 20200085582
Abstract: A ceramic acetabular cup (10) devoid of a separate liner comprises a part-spherical inner articulating surface (12) for non-captively receiving a femoral head, and an outer surface (14) for enabling direct to bone fixation. An inner radius at or adjacent to a rim (22) of the cup (10) extends to or adjacent to a surface edge of the inner articulating surface (12) to prevent or reduce undesirable effects of impingement of an associated femoral head and/or neck. An inner radius of the inner articulating surface (12) defines an active arc (A) over which an in use femoral head can articulate, and an uppermost portion of the rim (22) defines an offset datum plane (D). An offset (O) between an equatorial centre (E) of the inner articulating surface (12) and the offset datum plane (D) is in a range of around 1 mm towards a pole (24) of the inner articulating surface (12) and around 3.5 mm away from the said pole (24).
