  • Patent number: 10596716
Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided a method comprising generating (202) a guidance indicator relating to a portion of a user; determining (204) a position of a portion of a portable device relative to the portion of the user; and generating (208) an indication signal when it is determined that at least a portion of the portable device is in a defined position relative to the guidance indicator. According to other aspects, apparatus and a machine readable medium are provided.

  • Publication number: 20060059483
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of determining when a component is schedulable in a hard real time system for processing time dependent streams of data elements. The number of components is larger than the number of available processors for processing said components, and each of the components have at least one input and at least one output. The components are scheduled by determining the earliest time on which a component can contribute to the output of the system and by scheduling the component that can contribute to the output at the earliest time. The invention also relates to a hard real time system for processing time dependent streams of data elements with means for performing the above scheduling.

  • Publication number: 20050235075
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and system for changing an output rate of information for a buffer (3) with a constant first output rate (R1) which receives output data from a data source (2a), where the method step comprises; halting the reception of output data from the data source (2a); outputting (4) the stored output data of the buffer (3) at the first output rate (R1) until said buffer is empty, and resuming receiving and storing of output data in the buffer (3); setting a second constant output rate (R2) as the output rate of the buffer; and commencing/starting output of the content of the buffer at the second output rate (R2) when the amount of buffered data is equal to the second constant output rate (R2) times a requested buffer-time (TB2).

  • Publication number: 20050125789
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and a system for executing processes with different priorities in a multiprocessing environment comprising execution of a low priority process and a high priority process where the high priority process and the low priority process (T1) share a given resource, the method comprising the step of: raising the effective priority of the low priority process when the low priority process is going to use the shared resource, where the effective priority is raised to above other processes in the multiprocessing environment. This allows for as short delay, by other processes, of the high priority process as possible.

  • Publication number: 20050107991
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of determining when a component is schedulable in a hard real time system for processing time dependent streams of data elements. The number of components is larger than the number of available processors for processing said components and each of the components has at least one input and at least one output. The data elements are provided with time stamps and a component is schedulable when time stamped data elements from a predefined time interval of said time dependent stream of time stamped data element is available at all inputs of said component. In a specific embodiment the time stamps are points on an internally defined algorithmic time axis. The invention also relates to a hard real time system for processing time dependent streams of data elements with means for performing the above determining of scheduleability.
