Publication number: 20170109375Abstract: A system for document searching can include a camera. The system may further include an image capturing module configured to capture a first image of a first portion of a document, a feature recognition module in communication with the image capturing module, the feature recognition module configured to determine a first feature associated with the first image, a search module configured to send search information to a server and receive a first result from a first search of a set of documents that was performed based on one or more search criteria determined based on the first feature associated with the first image, and a search interface configured to present the first result on the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2016Publication date: April 20, 2017Inventor: Simon Dominic Copsey

Patent number: 9613265Abstract: A method and device for capturing a positionally corrected image of a document is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining a two-dimensional image of the document with a mobile terminal apparatus; performing edge detection within the two-dimensional image to identify edges of the document; determining angles between detected edges; calculating, based on the detected edges and the angles determined, a three-dimensional position of the document relative to a position of the mobile terminal apparatus; calculating correction information to correct, by relative movement, the position of the document relative to the position of the mobile terminal apparatus; providing first guidance information derived from the correction information to a user of the mobile terminal apparatus, guiding the user to perform the relative movement; and capturing a positionally corrected image of the document. Thereby, the document can be captured with a quality sufficient to permit Optical Character Recognition (OCR).Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2015Date of Patent: April 4, 2017Assignee: Open Text SA ULCInventor: Simon Dominic Copsey

Publication number: 20170068668Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for tracking documents in a computing environment, including documents stored locally on computing devices. A monitoring module stored on a computing device may determine that a user is trying to open a document stored locally on the computing device and communicate a signature associated with the document to a document tracking system. A document tracking system may compare the signature with a set of stored signatures to see if the document corresponds to a document already being tracked. If the document is not being tracked already, the document tracking system may upload the document into the system, send a link to a newer version or determine one or more actions to be performed on the document based on the signature.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2016Publication date: March 9, 2017Inventor: Simon Dominic Copsey

Patent number: 9589127Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for collaborative authentication of a person based on an interaction with another person. A request for collaborative authentication is sent to the computing device of a person wanting to access a system, including an authentication ID unique to the request. The person collaborates with another person associated with the system and provides the second person with the authentication ID. The second person sends the authentication ID to the system such that the system associates the second person with the first person. Data is sent to the second person in order to challenge the first person. The first person responds to the challenge using the computing device and the system receives the response. The system compares the response to an expected answer and can either allow or deny the first person access to the system based on the comparison. Co-location may also be verified.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2014Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignee: Open Text SA ULCInventor: Simon Dominic Copsey
