Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus for monitoring proximity of an object comprising a wireless communication USB dongle, such as a Bluetooth USB dongle, specifically configured and utilized as a remote tag 120 for monitoring the proximity of a target from a communication device 120. The remote tag is configured as a two-part USB device, the first part comprising a typical wireless communication USB dongle 125 (e.g. Bluetooth USB dongle) and a second part which connected to the first part. The second part 130 is connected in place of a computer to which the dongle is typically connected, and enables to utilize the wireless communication capabilities of the wireless communication USB dongle without the use of a computer or a similar communication device.

Abstract: A rotisserie apparatus is disclosed comprising a skewer assembly having a stationary portion and a rotatable portion, a first side wall for fixedly supporting the stationary portion, a second side wall for rotatingly supporting the rotatable portion, and at least one base element for supporting the first and second side walls. A casing enclosing the rotatable portion is driven by a mechanically powered drive mechanism that is housed in the interior of the casing. Heat transfer to the skewer assembly may be increased by use of a heat absorbing plate.

Abstract: Appliance for cooking food articles, which comprises a container for receiving an amount of the food articles to be cooked and an amount of cooking liquid sufficient to only partially immerse the food articles therein. The container has a discharge and comprising an opening for discharging the cooked food articles and a cover for closing the opening during the cooking operation. The appliance also comprises a helical paddle; a shaft on which the paddle is mounted, such that shaft is rotatably supported by the container; a motor for driving the shaft; means for causing the motor to drive the shaft in either the cooking direction or the discharging direction; and a support for supporting the container in a slightly slanted position wherein the front end of the shaft is slightly higher than the rear end thereof.

Abstract: The invention provides a portable irrigation device for dispensing irrigation liquid from a container to a target plant holder substrate area. The device comprises a dispensing unit which is releasably attached to the container, a control unit for activating or deactivating the dispensing unit, and a discharge tube in fluid communication with the dispensing unit through which discharged irrigation flows. Irrigation liquid is discharged from the container as a result of pressurized air which is generated by said control unit and injected into the container.

Abstract: A cooking appliance particularly useful as a multi-function toaster oven includes an impaling member in its cooking compartment for impaling a food article to be grilled, and horizontally-extending electrical heaters above and below the impaling member, which electrical heaters are sequentially energized and de-energized according to a predetermined sequence to produce a rotating heat front for heating the food article on the impaling member. The appliance may also include shelf supports for removably supporting one or more wire-screen shelves to enable the appliance also to be used as a toaster oven, a broiler oven, and/or a microwave heater to enable the appliance also to be used as a microwave oven.

Preferably, the facial treatment head includes a convexly-curved surface, but may also be one including a rotary disk which is rotated and vibrated while pressed into contact with the facial preparation on the subject's face. The facial preparation is preferably a mud mixture; preferably, this treatment is followed by another one utilizing a facial preparation containing a moisturizer which is also worked into the skin in a similar manner as the mud treatment.

Abstract: An appliance for cooking food articles includes a receptacle for receiving a quantity of food articles to be cooked, and a sufficient quantity of cooking liquid to only partially immerse the food articles therein; a heater for heating the cooking liquid and the food articles when received therein; a paddle movably mounted with respect to the receptacle so as to be movable therein; and a periodically-reversing drive for driving the paddle back and forth in the receptacle to move the food articles therein back and forth through the cooking liquid. The appliance is particularly useful for frying as it causes all the surfaces of the food article to be crisply fried without absorbing undue quantities of the frying oil. The appliance is also useful for other applications including steaming food, cooking rice, and popping corn.

The device is of special value for the monitoring of the pulse rate during jogging and similar types of exercise, the information being provided vocally. A preferred embodiment comprises a wireless set and/or tape recorder, with means for dimming the output of such radio or tape while a pulse rate is announced at predetermined intervals.

Abstract: A device for measuring the temperature of humans having a measuring device which is placed in contact with the skin and a triggering mechanism for activating the temperature measurement. The triggering mechanism is activated by a change in polarization impedance which is measured by a sensor. The sensor's impedance may vary as a result of contact with bodily fluids, such as urine or sweat. After the temperature measurement is made, the results may be transmitted, displayed, or stored in the memory of the device.
