  • Publication number: 20230352241
Abstract: A multilayer electrical component including a plurality of parallel plate electrodes embedded in a dielectric body between first and second conductive terminations is disclosed. The dielectric body and the plurality of parallel plate electrodes form a plurality of capacitive layers each comprising a series of capacitors between the first and second conductive terminations. Each capacitor of the capacitive layers is partly defined by a gap in one of the parallel plate electrodes, wherein a gap of the one capacitive layer is laterally offset relative to a gap of an adjacent capacitive layer and a total capacitance of the adjacent capacitive layers is equivalent.

  • Publication number: 20220071554
Abstract: The present invention relates to a medical device and a method for assessing and monitoring epithelial barrier function in vivo of a subject using electrical impedance measurements. The method comprises initiating an impedance measurement session including passing an electrical current through the skin of the subject to obtain values of skin impedance of a target tissue region, said data comprising at least one impedance value measured in the target tissue region at different tissue layers. Further, an evaluation procedure is applied for analyzing the epithelial barrier function in the target tissue region based on the measured data set of impedance values for the target tissue region at different tissue layers. The procedure evaluates the obtained data set of impedance values to provide an outcome indicating a status of the epithelial barrier function of the subject.

  • Patent number: 7967627
Abstract: A two-part inductive connector comprises a primary part having a primary half core and a secondary part having a secondary half core, the primary part including first locking means which are engageable with second locking means on the secondary part, one of the primary or secondary parts further comprising a pin which is receivable in a recess formed in the other of the primary or secondary parts, the connector having an unlocked position in which the primary and secondary half cores are not aligned and in which the first and second locking means are not engaged, and a locked position in which the primary and secondary half cores are aligned and the first and second locking means engaged, the connector moving between the unlocked and locked positions by relative rotation of the primary and secondary parts about the pin.

  • Publication number: 20090098641
Abstract: An incubator 1 for cell culture, or biological or chemical samples is provided, the incubator having disposed therein a humidity sensor 28 and a humidifier 2 having an atomiser including a spray nozzle 21. A compressed air supply line 25 and a liquid supply line 26 are connected to the spray nozzle. A control system 30 allows the required humidity level to be set, and is connected to the humidity sensor 28 to receive a signal indicative of the humidity within the incubator, and is also connected to the humidifier 2 to operate the humidifier to maintain the humidity within the incubator at the set level.

  • Patent number: 6994452
Abstract: The invention relates to LED-based lamps, luminaires and lighting systems for buildings particularly, though not exclusively, for providing emergency light in the event of power failure. In particular it provides a light-emitting diode lamp comprising a support (26) and an array of light emitting diodes (58) on the support, an optical axis (72) passing through the middle of the array (58) and diodes increasing in number and increasing in inclination with distance from the optical axis (72). It also provides a luminaire (24) comprising a lamp as described above and a lens (30) having facets for generally un-deviated and un-reflected passage of light from off-axis diodes, and a building emergency lighting system comprising luminaires (24) as described above. In an alternative embodiment inclination of the light is through progressively increasing inclination of the facets.
