  • Publication number: 20120027256
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for automatically sharing media between users is provided. Collections of images are received from different users, where each collection is associated with a particular user and the users may be associated with each other. The collections are grouped into one or more albums based on the content of the images in the collection, where each album is associated with a particular user. The albums from the different users are grouped into one or more event groups based on the content of the albums. The event groups are then shared automatically, without user intervention, between the different users based on their associations with each other and their individual sharing preferences.

  • Publication number: 20090036955
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatuses for guaranteeing a shut-down time for a laser in a laser surgical unit are presented. More particularly, embodiments of such methods, systems and apparatuses may provide shut-down logic which comprises a timer which may be triggered by a signal received from an event. At the expiration of the timer a signal may be output which is configured to disable the output of the laser. Specifically, in one embodiment, software may be used to configure a shut-down time and a set of events to be utilized to start the timer. Upon firing of the laser the timer will be enabled. During the operation of the laser then, if one of the set of events occurs the timer will be triggered such that at the end of the shut-down time the output of the laser will be disabled.

  • Publication number: 20080234666
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a surgical laser system having a control architecture operable to enable the surgical laser to be controlled from a user interface local to the laser system (e.g., the laser system front panel) and from a remote device. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a surgical laser unit operable to implement one set of functionality may be coupled to an advanced control unit such that the surgical laser unit may be controllable by the advanced control unit. The advance control unit may be a surgical system such as a vitreoretinal surgical system or other such surgical system.

  • Patent number: 6268530
Abstract: Process to separate linear 5-formylvaleric acid from a mixture of 5- and 3- and 4-formylvaleric acids, wherein the separation is performed by fractional extraction with two immiscible solvents of which one solvent is an aqueous solvent and the other solvent is an organic solvent, in which the organic solvent has a higher or lower affinity for 5-formylvaleric acid than its affinity for the 3-formylvaleric acids and for the 4-formylvaleric acid. Furthermore the invention relates to an improved process to prepare ∈-caprolactam starting from a mixture of branched and linear formylvaleric acids or starting from pentenoic acid.
