  • Publication number: 20140172259
Abstract: A method for operating a parking brake with an electromotively driven parking brake mechanism includes applying the parking brake by the electric motor, switching off the electric motor in the state in which the parking brake is applied, switching on the electric motor after a prespecified time and reapplying the parking brake mechanism in the brake application direction. During the brake reapplication operation, an electrical variable of the electric motor is determined and compared with a reference value. The brake reapplication process is continued or terminated depending on whether the electrical variable, or a variable derived therefrom, is smaller or greater than the reference value.

  • Publication number: 20140058642
Abstract: A method for operating a parking brake having an electromechanical braking device, which includes an electric brake motor, the electromechanical braking device being re-applied in order to generate a clamping force again in the case of a fault of the release process of the electromotive braking device.

  • Publication number: 20130333988
Abstract: In a method for setting the clamping force exerted by a parking brake, which is generated at least partially by an electromechanical braking device and, if needed, in supplementary fashion by a hydraulic braking device, in the provision of the hydraulic clamping force, a boost pressure to be generated in the hydraulic braking device is increased with respect to a switch-off pressure at the switch-off time that corresponds to the hydraulic clamping force.

  • Publication number: 20130338895
Abstract: In a method for setting the clamping force, which is exerted by a parking brake, a portion of which clamping force is at least partially generated by an electromechanical braking device having an electric actuator, and another portion is additionally generated by an additional braking device, as needed, the actual force curve is determined and compared to a characteristic, defined force curve to determine the magnitude of the electromechanical clamping force to be supplied by the electric actuator. If the actual force curve corresponds to the characteristic force curve, then, in addition to the electromechanical clamping force, an additional clamping force of the additional braking device is also taken into account for obtaining the setpoint clamping force.

  • Publication number: 20130325278
Abstract: In a method for setting the clamping force applied by a parking brake, which is generated by an electromechanical brake device and additionally by a hydraulic brake device as needed, the hydraulic pressure is ascertained, and the pressure is assigned a pressure reference path which is compared with an actuator path.

  • Patent number: 8483923
Abstract: In a method for reducing the clamping force applied by a parking brake, which may be generated at least partially by an electromechanical brake device having an electric brake motor and supplemented if necessary by a hydraulic brake device, a signal is generated for actuating the hydraulic brake device for the case that it is not possible for the brake motor to be released for reducing the clamping force.

  • Publication number: 20130060439
Abstract: In a method for setting a parking brake that has an electromechanical brake device having an electrical brake motor, the release time duration for displacing the electrical brake motor in the release direction is determined from the closing time duration in which the brake motor was previously displaced in the closing direction.

  • Publication number: 20130056315
Abstract: In a method for setting the clamping force exerted by a parking brake, for the case in which after the conclusion of a clamping process an event occurs that disturbs the stationary situation of the vehicle, a subsequent clamping process is carried out by actuating an electric brake motor and an additional brake device.

  • Publication number: 20130001027
Abstract: A method for operating a parking brake of a vehicle, in particular of a motor vehicle, which parking brake operates in the superposition mode, the brake force of the parking brake being applicable by two different force-generating actuators mutually supporting one another in the superposition mode. It is provided that the force-generating, in particular pressure-generating, actuator is activated for support even before the superposition.
