  • Patent number: 9376607
Abstract: Disclosed are compositions and methods for providing fluid-loss control in subterranean wells. Well-completion fluids contain fine particulate additives whose glass-transition temperatures are below the anticipated bottomhole temperature. The particles soften upon injection into the well, whereupon they soften and become deformable. The particles then migrate to the borehole wall and form a seal that reduces further fluid flow from the borehole into the formation. The additive may be supplied as a powder or in the form of a liquid suspension.

  • Publication number: 20160127225
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device-independent label is associated with multiple network devices such that the packet switching devices in a network will forward a packet based on the device-independent label to one of these multiple network devices. In one embodiment, these device-independent labels include, but are not limited to, domain-identifying labels and forwarding-punt labels. In one embodiment, a domain-identifying label is defined as a label that identifies a plurality of network nodes without identifying a single particular network node, single particular interface, nor single particular link. In one embodiment, a first-domain forwarding-punt label is placed at the top of the label stack to identify to forward the label-switched packet to any one of a plurality of designated forwarding nodes corresponding to the first-domain forwarding-punt label (e.g., for sending to a packet switching device which will have forwarding information for the second domain-identifying label.).

  • Publication number: 20160120437
Abstract: Systems and methods of are disclosed for providing visual feedback to a subject during magnetic resonance imaging, where the visual feedback is associated with input provided by the subject to a magnetic resonance compatible touch panel. A video camera is employed to record video images of the interaction between the subject and the touch panel, and the video images are processed to generate a real-time video signal including a rendering of the input provided to the touch panel and the interaction between the subject's hands and the touch panel. The real-time video signal is provided to the subject as visual feedback, and is displayed within a time duration that is sufficiently fast to avoid the detection of the visual feedback as an error signal with the subject's brain in relation to the sense of proprioception. A measurement of the force applied to the touch panel by the subject may be recorded and employed when rendering the real-time video.

  • Patent number: 9313625
Abstract: Enhanced message notification is provided by an enhanced notification function element and a subscriber preference profile database. The enhanced notification function element queries the subscriber preference profile database to obtain subscriber communication terminal capabilities information, which it uses to select a message notification technology. The enhanced notification function element may then format an enhanced notification that is delivered to a communication terminal through a delivery system architecture appropriate for the selected message notification technology. The enhanced notification may contain: a message type indicator; an identifier of the party leaving the message; a date and time that the message was deposited; multimedia objects; and other enhanced information. The enhanced notification function element may also query a terminal roaming status database in order to determine if the enhanced message should be sent when the terminal is roaming.

  • Patent number: 9307394
Abstract: Access terminals capable of employing multiple subscriptions are adapted to prevent out-of-service periods for one or more subscriptions. According to one example, an access terminal can establish a data communication on a first subscription utilizing a first network, and an idle mode connection on a second subscription utilizing a second network. A determination can be made that the first subscription is indicating data transfer. In response to such a determination, the second subscription can attempt a change from a radio access technology associated with the second network to a different radio access technology. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.
