  • Patent number: 11500462
Abstract: A system assists a worker in performing manufacturing tasks involving one or more objects. The system comprises an augmented-reality display system, a task-state sensing system that determines a state of a manufacturing task, a physiological-state-sensing system that detects a physiological state of the worker, and an electronic processing system. The electronic processing system determines a guidance setting for the worker from their detected physiological state and determines assistance information to display to the worker based on the state of the manufacturing task and the determined guidance setting for the worker. The augmented-reality display system displays the determined assistance information to the worker in a controlled spatial relationship to the object(s).
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 15, 2022
    Assignee: KIT-AR LIMITED
Inventors: Manuel Fradinho Duarte De Oliveira, Felix Mannhardt, Youngjun Cho, Simon Justin Julier, Joao Carlos Antunes Goncalves Costa

  • Patent number: 6829568
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described for fusing a plurality of signals corresponding to estimates of the state of an object, system, or process. The method and apparatus is specialized or programmed for (1) receiving estimates, each of which can be expressed in the form of a state vector and an error covariance matrix, at least one estimate of which can be decomposed into a sum of an independent error covariance matrix and a potentially correlated error covariance matrix, and (2) transmitting a resulting signal corresponding to an estimate, which can be expressed in the form of a state vector and an error matrix, in order to evoke a physical response from a system receiving the signal. The method and apparatus provides advantages over the prior art by improving the accuracy of fused estimates while guaranteeing consistency.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: December 7, 2004
