  • Publication number: 20160323479
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for scanning large-format scan templates (4) with an automatic dynamic scale correction function during the scanning process by means of a scanner (1) which has image capturing elements (2) arranged in a cascading manner in order to scan the scan template (4), wherein image information of adjacent sensor elements (11 to 14) is assembled by means of a stitching method and shift values (Vn) are ascertained in said elements.

  • Patent number: 9007665
Abstract: Documents in a large-format scanning system are scanned by coarsely recognizing longitudinal or transverse transition regions between a reflector roller and a document by the substeps of dividing the scanning image transversely into uniform image strips, determining statistical parameters for each image strip, examining the scanning image in the image strips with fixed threshold values for deviations such that, if a value of one the statistical parameters of an image strip exceeds the threshold value, this region is recognized as being a transverse transition region between the reflector roller and the document, and examining the image strips to determine the longitudinal transition region by line-by-line generation of an average value and determining sufficiently strong and steep edges, the image strips being rotated incrementally from the transverse of the document to an acute angle.

  • Patent number: 8824023
Abstract: The invention relates to a scanning method for a large-size scanner system (1) comprising at least two image detection elements (2) that are used for scanning a large-size original (4) to be scanned and are arranged in a cascaded manner so as to have at least one overlapping area (13, 14).

  • Publication number: 20140139888
Abstract: A large-format scanner having an imaging element and connected to a PC by a standard interface of predetermined maximum bandwidth is provided with a variable-speed document feeder and with a device upstream of the imaging element for detecting the width transverse to the feed direction of a document being moved through the apparatus by the feeder. As soon as the document width is detected and before the document reaches the imaging element, any sensors of the imaging element that will not confront the document are turned off and the document speed is adjusted so that the sensors left on produce a data output of a bandwidth close to but below the maximum bandwidth of the interface, with wide documents being fed faster than narrow documents.

  • Publication number: 20140063570
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for identifying the width and position of documents (4) in a large-format scanner system (1) using recorded image information, wherein the scanner system (1) has image capture elements (2) for recording the image information, an optical system (3) arranged upstream thereof and a reflector (5) arranged opposite the image capture elements (2), having the following steps: 51 the recorded image information is preprocessed in order to reduce faults as a result of soiling of the optical system (3) and the reflector (5), 52 horizontal and/or vertical transition regions (12, 13) from the reflector (5) to the document (4) are subjected to coarse identification, and 53 horizontal and/or vertical document edges (10, 11) within the transition regions (12, 13) detected by the coarse identification as per step S2 are subjected to fine identification.

  • Publication number: 20110310443
Abstract: A method for scanning large-format documents by way of a large-format scanner, which is connected to a PC (11) via a standard interface (10), is to be further developed, so as to omit prescans, to optimize the scanning rate, to significantly increase productivity between the application of the document and the storage of the data on the PC, and to obtain cost-efficient scans.
