  • Publication number: 20240133141
Abstract: A plowing system is removably mountable onto a vehicle in order to provide the vehicle with lateral plowing capability along a given lateral range of the vehicle. The plowing system includes a mounting assembly, a plowing assembly and corresponding plowing component. The plowing system also has associated first and second actuating assemblies cooperable with one another so as to selectively operate the plowing component between retracted and deployed configurations, and so as to provide the plowing system and associated plowing assembly and corresponding plowing component with an increased plowing resistivity within the lateral range of the vehicle, due to a combined effect of the first and second actuating assemblies. A corresponding vehicle is provided with such a plowing system.

  • Publication number: 20100328661
Abstract: A laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) system uses discrete optical filters for isolated predetermined spectral components from plasma light created by ablation of a sample. Independent detection elements may be used for detecting the magnitude for each spectral component. A first spectral component may include a characteristic wavelength of the sample, while a second spectral component may be a portion of a background continuum. The filters may include volume Bragg gratings and the detectors may be photodiodes. A detector that detects plasma light remaining after the isolation of the predetermined spectral components may be used together with a signal acquisition controller to precisely control the initiation and termination of signal acquisition from each of the detection elements. The system may also have optics including a collimating lens through which passes both the initial plasma light and the isolated spectral components.

  • Patent number: 7673537
Abstract: A manipulator for supporting and displacing an object comprises a base. A moving portion supports the object. Two articulated mechanisms each having five rotational joints between links, with each articulated mechanism being connected to the base by two of the rotational joints. The moving portion is connected to both the articulated mechanisms by moving-portion joints. The articulated mechanisms and moving-portion joints are arranged with respect to each other between the base and the moving portion so as to constrain movement of the moving portion to displacements in two translational degrees of freedom and two rotational degrees of freedom with respect to the base. Four actuators are each operatively connected to a different one of the rotational joints between the base and the articulated mechanisms so as to selectively control the displacements of the moving portion in any one of the four degrees of freedom of the moving portion.
