  • Publication number: 20260120591
Abstract: A compact flight simulation system uses a flight simulation platform having a base and a simulator cabin positioned above the base. A plurality of actuators is connected between the base and a side of the simulator cabin in a location on the side of the simulator cabin substantially corresponding to a center of mass of the simulator cabin. The simulation system has a simulation computer receiving flight control signals from the simulator cabin and outputting a simulated flight state to an actuation controller, wherein the actuation controller controls movement of the plurality of actuators. The compact flight simulation system provides a motion platform design with maximal range within a constrained space, a motion cueing optimized motion envelope, and dynamic characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20250174146
Abstract: A virtual reality flight simulator includes recording flight simulation data to produce a simulated flight demonstration. The flight simulation data including flight visual re-creation data for recreating flight visuals, physical control element states, instructor user body states, trainee user body states, and/or auditory data. The simulated flight demonstration is validated for correctness. The validated simulated flight demonstration is played to at least one trainee user in a virtual environment of a flight simulation training device (FSTD). The virtual environment is viewable by the trainee user on at least one visual interface. The validated simulated flight demonstration includes time-synchronized playback of the recorded flight simulation data.

  • Publication number: 20250054233
Abstract: A validation system for VR HMDs (20) has a left eye display (21) and a right eye display (22) with an adjustable HMD IPD (230) between them, and comprises a measurement device (10) with a left (11) and a right (12) camera, wherein each camera (11, 12) is intrinsically and extrinsically calibrated. Each camera (11, 12) is mounted within the validation system for a movement of the cameras (11, 12) to adjust the camera IPD (130) between the two cameras (11, 12). A control unit (100) is configured to effect a validation measurement when the HMD IPD (230) is adjusted to the prechosen camera IPD (130) through creating a virtual target object at a specific chosen position with a chosen distance from the measurement system, showing images of said virtual target object to the displays (21, 22) of the HMD (20), detecting the virtual object within the images and determining the distance from the cameras (11, 12) and validating the HMD based on a comparison between the determined distance with the chosen distance.
