  • Patent number: 6758411
Abstract: A liquid two part cleaning composition for hard surfaces, and a two chamber bottle for dispensing the cleaner are disclosed. The cleaner includes a first basic liquid and a second acidic liquid. At least one of the liquids includes a surfactant system. At least one of the liquids includes a foam inhibitor. When the first and second liquid are dispensed on a surface, carbon dioxide gas released instantaneously creates a quickly breaking foam on the surface. The bottle has horizontal orientation of the first and second chamber that assures a user's thumb is on the front wall and a user's fingers are on the rear wall of the bottle when dispensing. The horizontal orientation provides an ergonomically advantageous wide range of motion. The positioning of a user's thumb on the front wall of the bottle allows for design adjustments in the bottle to achieve equal dispensing from both chambers.

  • Patent number: 6738989
Abstract: A dispenser for use in a toilet tank is disclosed. There is a replaceable bottle There is also an upwardly open holster for receiving the bottle in inverted fashion. A valve is associated with the holster that controls the dispensing of cleaner from the container, and/or a mounting hook is provided on the holster that can pivot between a storage position in a bottle recess and a mounting position snap locked on the holster (or is integrally linked to the holster).

  • Publication number: 20040016044
Abstract: A device for dispensing liquids from under the rim of a toilet bowl is disclosed. The dispensing device includes a reservoir for holding a liquid, a wick, and means for suspending the reservoir from the toilet bowl rim. The wick transports the liquid upward from the reservoir to a position at or above an upper surface of the reservoir. During a toilet flush, flush water washes liquid on the upper surface of the reservoir and/or liquid on the wick into the toilet bowl. The wick is formed from a hydrophobic material in order to repel flush water so that flush water does not travel down the side of the wick and dilute the liquid in the reservoir with flush water. In another aspect, the suspension means and/or the entire device is not visible from above the rim of the toilet bowl when the dispensing device is installed on the rim.

  • Publication number: 20030226198
Abstract: A dispenser for use in a toilet tank that has a water level that rises and falls. There is a replaceable bottle having a bottom, side walls, a top, an upper outlet, and an internal cavity suitable to contain a dispensable product such as a toilet bowl cleaner, and optionally a grip through hole near the bottom of the bottle. There is also an upwardly open holster for receiving the bottle in inverted fashion so that an outlet of the container is inside the holster. A majority of the outside surface area of the container side walls may be inside the holster, a valve may be associated with the holster that controls the dispensing of cleaner from the container, and/or a mounting hook on the holster may pivot between a storage position in a bottle recess and a mounting position snap locked on the holster (or is integrally linked to the holster). The bottle and holster are compatibility sloped to guide the proper positioning of the bottle in the holster.

  • Publication number: 20020194671
Abstract: A dispenser is provided for dispensing cleaning chemicals such as toilet bowl cleaners. It has a dosing chamber containing therein a floating shuttle that seals a lower opening in the dosing chamber and floats up there from as an aliquot of chemical is prepared for release during the next cycle. There is also a float controlled external valve pin at a lower end of the dispenser for alternately opening and closing a lower opening in the dosing chamber. The level of water in the tank controls the movement of the valve pin, and dispensing of the cleaner chemical controls movement of the floating shuttle. A grommet provides a valve seat for both the floating shuttle and valve pin.
