  • Patent number: 6597904
Abstract: A paging system, including a number of central stations, each of which contains a number of pagers associated with it. Each pager responds to one or more identifying numbers so that a caller may send a paging message to one or more pagers, all of which respond to the same identifying number. The central station includes a profile of information for each pager. Paging information includes various identification numbers to which the pager responds, as well as selected types of services. Pagers can additionally restrict receiving certain pages, limit the number of received calls, and arrange for a transfer of their calls from one central station to another. The central station can also store voice messages providing an indication to the selected pager to retrieve voice messages.

  • Publication number: 20020181466
Abstract: The present invention is a system that completes a communication initiated with an insufficient partial/incomplete or fuzzy destination address. A fuzzy address processor breaks the fuzzy address into the tokens, assigns the tokens as an index component, a disambiguation component or an other component and uses the components to perform one or more address information database searches to find records with similar address information. The records found are compared to the original fuzzy address and the record with the closest match is used as the record from which a complete address is obtained. The best match is determined using a lowest score of a lexical rewrite distance metric. The complete address is used to forward or send the communication to the destination.

  • Patent number: 6418305
Abstract: A paging system, which consists of a number of central stations, each of which contains a number of pager apparatus associated with it. Each pager apparatus responds to one or more identifying numbers so that a caller may send a paging message to one or a number of pager apparatus, all of which respond to the same identifying number. The central station includes a profile of information for each pager apparatus associated with it. Paging information is comprised of various identification numbers to which the pager apparatus responds, as well as selected type of services. Pagers can additionally restrict receiving pages from unwelcome callers, prioritize messages, limit the number of received calls, and arrange for a transfer of their calls from one central station to another central station. The central station can also store voice message providing an indication to the selected pager to call the central station to retrieve voice message.

  • Patent number: 5224150
Abstract: A paging system, which includes of a number of central stations, each of which contains a number of pager apparatus associated with it. Each pager apparatus responds to one or more identifying numbers so that a caller may send a paging message to one or a number of pager apparatus. The caller has a pager which is also paged to allow the caller to verify that the transmission of the page has occurred. Auditorium cutoff allows a local transmitter to disable the audio response of pagers within or entering into a local area.

  • Patent number: 5192947
Abstract: A low cost, low power consumption pager of approximate credit card size which can serve as both a pager and a credit card or telephone calling card. The pager is powered by a flat, flexible battery, and is comprised of low power consumption pager circuitry. The circuit is turned on and off at regular intervals to converse energy. The pager holder is altered to incoming messages by a combination of audio and visual signals. The pager can be activated or deactivated by itself or in concert with other pager devices by a single cell. The pager includes a magnetic strip, or the like, for encoding identification and security data and for performing account verification. The audio circuit on the pager can emit audio signals of varying pitch and amplitude, each combination representing a distinct class of messages. Each pager can emit a unique sound distinguishing that pager from all others in a group.
