  • Publication number: 20250009959
Abstract: Electronic patient monitoring and treatment devices can include various loads (such as, pumps or sensors) that may need to be actively managed at startup to prevent a brownout condition and reset from occurring. To prevent the brownout and reset, an initial inrush current to the load can be limited by a soft-start circuit. In some cases, alternatively activating and deactivating a switch can packetize the energy transfer from a power source to the load and reduce the inrush current. Reducing the current can also reduce the required recovery time of the power source.
