  • Publication number: 20210338584
Abstract: The invention relates to liposomes, methods of producing liposomes, and methods of loading cell-derived liposomes with cargo molecules. The invention extends to such liposomes per se, and to the use of these liposomes as cellular delivery systems for the delivery of biologically and therapeutically active payload molecules, such as small molecules, RNAi molecules (e.g. siRNA), bioactive proteins, genome editing tools (e.g. Cas9) and drugs into cells for treating a range of disorders. The liposomes may also be used in a range of diagnostic and theranostic applications. The invention extends to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such liposomes, including populations of extracellular vesicles (EV), exosomes and to fusion proteins.

  • Patent number: 10703579
Abstract: The invention relates to a tipping actuator for a conveyor system that comprises a plurality of article carriers moving on an endless conveyor in a conveying direction, each article carrier having a carrier frame for bearing an article, the carrier frame being pivotally mounted on the article carrier and operable to tip to enable discharge of the article borne on the carrier frame. The tipping actuator comprises a trigger member for contacting the article carriers to tip them and is configured such that, when in a non-contact position, the article carriers are able to at least partly tip towards the trigger member such that the contact portion of the trigger member is received by a portion of the article carrier. In another embodiment, a contact portion of the trigger is sloped with two different gradients. An electromagnet may be used to cause actuation of the trigger.

  • Patent number: 9084095
Abstract: A system and methodology that facilitates Short Message Service (SMS) delivery in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) environment is provided. In particular, an interface is provided, which enables a Mobility Management Entity (MME) to communicate directly with a Short Message Service Center (SMSC) to facilitate delivery of SMS in an evolved packet core (EPC). In one aspect, the interface can be most any SS7-based interface, such as a Gd interface. In another aspect, the interface can be an IP based (e.g., SS7 over IP) interface. Accordingly, the MME can utilize the interface to establish direct communication with the SMSC, without employing intermediate network elements (e.g., mobile switching centers).

  • Patent number: 8942709
Abstract: Systems and methods provide a single E.164 number for voice and data call redirection and telephony services such as caller identification, regardless of in which type of network a dual mode mobile device operates. When the dual mode device registers and is active in a GSM network, temporary routing and status updates are triggered and resultant information is maintained in both networks. A mobile terminated call is routed through an enterprise WLAN with call control within the enterprise being handled by SIP or H.323 signaling, and the call is redirected to the mobile device in the GSM network, where call control is assumed by the SS7 network. Services are provided using the protocols native to the active network, and the single E.164 is used consistently along with or lieu of the temporary routing information for subscriber identity specific functions, such as caller identification and voice mail.

  • Patent number: 8693643
Abstract: Apparatus, methods and computer-readable storage media for integrating visual voicemail within a threaded communication environment are presented herein. A method can include: displaying, via an interface, a thread of messaging content; receiving a visual voicemail; and integrating a display of the visual voicemail within the thread of messaging content. The method can further include generating sound based on a communication included in the visual voicemail, in response to receiving an input via the interface. Further, the method can include integrating the display of the visual voicemail within a multi-modal conversation thread. Furthermore, the thread of messaging can be included in an instant messaging window including SMS and/or MMS messages. Moreover, the display of the visual voicemail can be embedded within a social media based interface. The method can further include receiving a transcription of the visual voicemail; and displaying the transcription within the thread of messaging content.

  • Patent number: 8139681
Abstract: A communications signal is received through a propagation channel, down-converted in frequency and then converted into a digital signal. The samples of the digital signal are processed to estimate the information conveyed by the communications signal. The estimated information is then used with knowledge about the propagation channel to model the samples of the digital signal. The modeled samples are compared with actual samples of the digital signal to deduce phase errors in the digital signal. The phase errors are then used to deduce a frequency error in the digital signal that can be used to correct the samples of the digital signal and to correct the down-conversion process.
