Patent number: 12338917Abstract: A color changing crimp ring device to facilitate a worker to visually identify that a crimp ring on a plumbing line has been fully crimped includes a crimp ring that is comprised of deformable material to resist being deformed until exposed to a sufficient compressive force generated by a crimping tool for crimped the crimp ring around a cross-linked polyethylene plumbing pipe. A reactive layer is applied to the crimp ring and the reactive layer normally displays a neutral color. The reactive layer reacts to the sufficient compressive force generated by the crimping tool such that the reactive layer displays a highly visible color. In this way the reactive layer facilitates a worker to visually identify that the crimp ring has been fully crimped onto the cross-linked polyethylene plumbing pipe.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2023Date of Patent: June 24, 2025Inventor: Simon Schwartz

Patent number: 8573082Abstract: A drive cartridge comprises an actuating mechanism, in which a spindle can be guided in a hollow cylindrical drive element between two end positions at an axial distance from one another. The positions are defined by the axial length of the drive element. A dome-shaped casing surrounds the drive element in a non-rotatable and non-displaceable manner. The drive element has an external contour with an eccentric profile and the internal contour of the dome-shaped casing has a positive fit only in those areas of the drive element in which the permissible normal stress exceeds a predefined upper limit.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2009Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Friatec AktiengesellschaftInventors: Simon Schwartz, Georg Jungmann, Helko Lang, Harald Schmitt, Alexander Rothermel

Patent number: 8181934Abstract: The invention relates to a shut-off device comprising a housing which is to be connected to an adjacent conduit in a pressure-tight manner. A tubular passage is defined in the housing for a medium flowing through the conduit. Said device also comprises at least one sealing body which can be displaced by an articulated mechanism, by means of an adjusting drive that can be moved vertically in relation to the direction of flow, from an open position into a closed position in which the sealing contour of the at least one sealing body comes into contact with the tubular passage in a radially sealing manner. The articulated mechanism is guided parallel to the direction of displacement of the adjusting drive and comprises a bearing body to which the at least one sealing body is pivotably applied.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2007Date of Patent: May 22, 2012Assignee: Friatec AktiengesellschaftInventors: Simon Schwartz, Alexander Rothermel, Fabian Maier, Dirk Elsasser, Heiko Gehr, Wolfgang Sichler, Harald Schmitt, Michael Schneider, Ralf Schmich

Patent number: 7406983Abstract: The invention relates to a shut-off fitting comprising a housing which is connected to an adjacent pipeline in a pressure tight manner, the diameter of said pipeline defining a tubular passage in the housing. Said fitting also comprises at least one closing body which can be displaced between an open position and a closed position. The inventive shut-off fitting is characterized in that the at least one closing body can be displaced by an articulated mechanism, by means of an actuator which can be vertically displaced in relation to the flow direction, in such a way that it is arranged outside the tubular passage in its open position. The closing body has a contour which is adapted to the contour of the tubular passage, in the open position, and is located on the tubular passage in a radially sealing manner.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2003Date of Patent: August 5, 2008Assignee: Friatec AktiengesellschaftInventors: Simon Schwartz, Alexander Rothermel, Fabian Maier, Dirk Elsasser, Heiko Gehr, Wolfgang Sichler, Harald Schmitt, Michael Schneider, Ralf Schmich
