  • Patent number: 12617198
Abstract: Tooling for supporting workpieces during a printing operation, comprises a support tower comprising a base and a head, the head being positioned vertically above the base in use, the head being relatively moveable with respect to the base in a horizontal plane in use, the head having first and second support surfaces located at an upper end thereof, each of the first and second support surfaces being adapted to support a respective workpiece thereon, wherein the first support surface is relatively moveable with respect to the second support surface in a vertical direction in use between a printing configuration in which the first and second support surfaces are substantially coplanar in the horizontal plane, and a pre-printing configuration in which the first and second support surfaces are spaced in the vertical direction.

  • Publication number: 20260062232
Abstract: A workpiece aligner, comprising: a base, an actuation assembly for moving a workpiece support, and wherein the actuation assembly comprises first, second and third rotary actuators, each rotary actuator driving a respective cammed rotor which, when rotated, causes the support to move relative to the base, such that the actuation assembly is selectively operative to move the support to cause a translation of the support parallel to a plane, a rotation of the support about an axis orthogonal to that plane, or a combination of said translation and said rotation.

  • Publication number: 20250144929
Abstract: A clamp for attaching a squeegee module to a print head which is operated by a standard squeegee drive of the print head. The clamp has two connected bars biased away from a release configuration in which the bars are relatively close to a clamping configuration in which the bars are relatively distant from each other, the arrangement being such that, in use, the clamp is located intermediate the squeegee module and the print head with the first bar proximate the squeegee module and the second bar proximate the print head and, when in the clamping configuration, the lower surface of the first bar and the upper surface of the second bar are biased into contact with respective parts of the squeegee module to apply a clamping force thereto.

  • Patent number: 12281892
Abstract: Heights of components or parts thereof are measured within a printing machine by measuring their relative rather than absolute heights. A virtual surface may be constructed from the measured heights, with a tolerance level employed based on the virtual surface. The invention is particularly suited to measurement of tooling components within a printing machine, such as tooling pins.

  • Publication number: 20210221118
Abstract: A method of removing a magnetic tooling pin from a planar ferromagnetic support surface, comprises providing a pin-placement tool comprising an engagement body and an electrically conductive coil, supplying electrical power to the conductive coil to create a magnetic field which causes the magnetic attraction between the tooling pin and the support surface to be reduced, and moving the engagement body and engaged tooling pin away from the support surface.

  • Patent number: 10882305
Abstract: A printing machine includes an isolated chamber for the print medium cartridge, which chamber can be opened and accessed without interrupting the print process. In order to enable such a configuration, the cartridge and its cradle are also separated from the print carriage and carried on a shuttle movably mounted on a static rail. The shuttle includes a wall section which acts to isolate the chamber when the shuttle is located in a home position within the chamber.
