Each of the braking systems has different advantages in terms of braking effect, system costs, ease of maintenance, etc. A brake unit with a modified structure for a vehicle is provided. For this purpose, a brake unit 14 for a vehicle 1 is disclosed, having a housing 15, having a brake body device 23, wherein the brake body device 23 supports a stationary brake partner of a brake apparatus 12 for the vehicle 1, wherein the housing 15 and/or the brake body device 23 defines a main axis H, having an actuator for moving the brake body device relative to the housing 15 in order to generate a braking force, wherein the stationary brake partner is formed as a brake disc 13.
